20. Sudden Attack

"Tsukasa, come here for a bit!" Miyuki called out.

Tsukasa went to the table where Himawari is lying on top of, being patched up by Miyuki.

"Yes, Miyuki-Chan?"

"I need to fetch some more medical supplies... Watch out for her, Ok?" With that Miyuki ran off, and Tsukasa stood beside the table.

Tsukasa noticed that Himawari is no longer breathing, and she widened her eyes in sadness at that. Out of the blue, Yuki walked by to check.

"Is she OK?" Yuki asked.

"Oh, Takeya-San... I don't know. Maybe?"

Tsukasa then looked at Kurumi, who is cursing out words inside the RV. It seems like as if she's finding something but she couldn't discover it.

"What's with her?"

"Oh it's nothing. Kurumi-Chan had a bad temper, so it's usual. What about her friends over there?" Yuki pointed at the middle school group who were watching Ruu drawing.

Before Tsukasa even had a chance to speak, a pair of arms rose behind Yuki, and grappled her by her head.

"WHOA!!"

"Shoot! Takeya-San!"

Tsukasa hurriedly went to Yuki's side, to see the attacker is none other than Himawari, but her eyes are grey and dead... She's also growling out loud.

With both the force from Tsukasa's strength from pulling, and Yuki trying to pull herself off, Himawari was sent back flat on the table.

Yuki is now freed, but she fell to the ground due to the recoil after being released so suddenly.

Tsukasa looked at the group.

"Kurumi-San! Your shovel! Hurry!"

However as soon as she shouted that, Himawari grapples Tsukasa from behind, and turned her body around so Tsukasa can face her.

Now Himawari is trying to get a single chomp on Tsukasa's neck, but she struggled a lot until Kurumi came by with her shovel.

"Get out of the way!" Kurumi raised her shovel.

Tsukasa kicks Himawari off, giving Kurumi a wide space to strike, but she missed and the shovel got stuck into the table's wood.

"Damn it! I had her!" Kurumi cussed, as she tries to pry off the shovel from the table.

Himawari straddles Tsukasa, and tries to take a chomp on her neck, until...

"I got her, I got her!" Shouted Patty, who ran to the scene with a plank and hits Himawari square in the head.

However the plank breaks upon impact with her skull, and it's not enough to put her down.

Tsukasa kicked her back again, before she scrambled backwards until Himawari got off the table, straddling Tsukasa again.

Tsukasa's hands were on Himawari's forehead, and her thumbs were digging into her eyeballs which popped up, and waterfalls of blood fell from the sockets.

"I got it, sweetie! Get me some space!" Tadao ran in with the axe.

Tsukasa then pulled Himawari to the right, giving her father space to axe Himawari in the head, finishing her off for good.

Tadao pulls the axe out of her head, as Tsukasa pushed the dead Himawari off to the side.

"Why did you bring her in here in the first place, idiot!?" Misao shouted.

"Kusakabe, calm down--" Kagami defused.

"You're gonna get us ALL killed!"

Tsukasa stood up, and Tadao handed her axe back. Meanwhile Kurumi is hugging Yuki, who is passed out with an enormous amount of tears falling down from her eyes.

"Why the hell didn't you tell us that she was bitten!?" Kurumi went over to Chinatsu.

"What!?" The pinkette replied with shock.

"She's bitten, and you didn't say a goddamn word!"

"B-B-but she wasn't bitten! I swear! None of my group were!"

"Well your 'not bitten' friend here just came back to life, and tried to kill my girl-- Ahem! Yuki!"

"What!? Wait, you guys don't get it do you?" Akari was the one who spoke up.

"What is it, redhead!?" Kurumi aggressively replied.

"It's not the bite that does it! You just come back no matter how you die, and if we don't destroy the brain that's what happened! It's going to happen to all of us..." Akari explained, giving everyone except her group, Yuki and Ruu widen their eyes in disbelief.

"We're all infected? Everyone!?" Tsukasa asked.

"Yeah. I think whatever that caused this hell is airborne..." Funami replied.

"She's right. There are no single bite mark on her body." Patty inspected Himawari's corpse.

"Well, the first time we saw it was when we were hiding out at our school gym where we and the other survivors think that it might be safe. One of our friends, Chitose Ikeda said that she couldn't take it anymore. She went to the bathroom with a rope. A long one. One of us checked the room the next day and..." Kyouko explained.

"That's what caused our group to be down to 6 people when you found us... my sister is dead... Some sickos raped her and one of them shot her eye with a crossbow... And as for the rest, they could be alive, or dead, or infected or worse..." Akari cried out.

Everyone stayed silent. They couldn't process their backstory... Everyone is infected since whatever caused this is airborne. But why hasn't it infected them yet when they're still alive and not bit?

Meanwhile, at the Melee fight crew's section...

The boy who almost shot a crossbow bolt at Kurumi's group lied on his futon, breathing heavily. He then got up slowly, walked out of the room as he staggered and was groaning around until he fell off a window to his death.
