14. A House Divided

The RV finally reached the destination. St. Isidore University. The front gate is closed, and is seemed to be locked. However there is a ladder for access.

"This is it... Our key to find out what Randall Corporation is..." Kurumi muttered.

"Still looked intact too..." Yuuri commented.

"Should we go in now!? I wanna meet our new friends!" Yuki asked, hopping around the RV's interior.

"Of course you could..." Both Miyuki and Miki replied in monotone.

The Hiiragi twins stayed silent. They had lost their closest friend... Well, in Kagami's case, her love.

"I still can't believe Konata left us like that... Looks like she wants to be independent for real... She's like a sister to me." Yuki said sadly.

The group went out of the RV, and they all climbed to the other side.

"Hey, Kagami... Let's--" Kurumi tried to start a conversation.

"Not right now." Kagami replied coldly.

Tsukasa and Yuki looked at each other, and back at Kagami worriedly.

"She's lost it..." Miki said.

"Yeah... I don't know how long she can hold on..." Yuuri continued.

Ruu, who only understand the conversation a little, asked "What's wrong with her?"

Kagami grunted angrily as her eyes looked at Ruu.

"What's wrong with me, kid? You should--"

She was cut off by a crossbow bolt flying narrowly pass her.

"DON'T MOVE, DON'T YOU PEOPLE MOVE!" The voice came from a shrub.

They looked at the source, a boy wearing a beret and a pair of goggles. He seems to be wearing warm clothes despite the weather being hot.

"Whoa, calm down please, we're not here for any harm--" Kurumi tried to negotiate.

"DON'T MOVE A MUSCLE! YOU MUST'VE BEEN INFECTED!"

"Listen up, son. Do we look like we've been infected? We have no bites." Kagami asked.

The boy then blushed embarrassedly, as he said "Yeah... Well..."

"Let's go back." Yuki said before pointing to the boy, and said "Bullies... Are bad!"

The boy looked even more down as he heard that, and said "Well... Hurry and leave then..."

Everyone could tell that he is shaking, and in the end the group decided to return to the RV.

The boy walked back to where he came from and cried embarrassedly, saying "I was called a bully...." As he poked the ground in shame.

After they returned inside the RV, they began to discuss what just happened.

"That guy just shot an arrow at us, what the hell is wrong with him...?" Kurumi asked.

"That's a bolt, not an arrow." Kagami corrected.

"Yeah, bolt. Well... We still need to negotiate with them. Who's with me? It's better if only a few of us go and check."

"I'll go, Kurumi. Naoki will come too, see if she can talk some sense into that guy." Kagami stood up.

"Well, how about me, Miyuki Rii-San, Ruu-Chan, and Tsukasa?" Yuki asked.

"Guard the RV. And make sure that little murderer don't make any unwanted noise." Kagami pointed to Ruu, who tilted her head in curiosity.

"You're not talking to my sister like that." Yuuri said angrily, as she glared at Kagami.

"Yeah, and I'm supposed to what? Care for her? She's the one who caused Konata to die out there."

"Kagami-San... It's not right to blame Ruu-Chan." Yuki said again.

"You shut your mouth, you're the one who got that buzzer in the first place, then you let that brat take it and causing my Konata to die!"

"Onee-Chan, that's enough!" Tsukasa yelled

"Kagami, calm down please!" Miyuki supported.

"It's my fault, Kagami-San. I'm the one who took that buzzer in the mall in the first place, then I carelessly let Ruu-Chan take it... I'm sorry... Please..."

Kagami stayed silent as she looked down, thinking of what to say, and due to her being speechless, she just grunted, and got off the RV, as Kurumi and Miki followed.

"Man... Kona-Chan's death really took a toll on her..." Tsukasa remarked.

"It's OK, Tsukasa... She'll be back. I'm sure." Miyuki continued.

"Yeah. I'm sure she'll be fine!" Yuki told them.

"What's a toll?" Ruu asked innocently.

"You shouldn't be too rude on the kid you know." Kurumi looked at a still angry Kagami.

"Yeah, what do you want me to do? Give her candy for causing Konata's death? Well, No!"

"Huff... There they go again..." Miki sighed as the twin tailed duo continued to quarrel.

They stopped walking as they saw running figures from a distance. They wore punk like outfits and wore bike helmets.

"Shoot... Run!" Kagami yelled.

Kurumi and Miki complied and they ran back to the direction of the RV, as the rest of the group looked at them in confusion until they see who's chasing.

The group went into shock, as Kurumi turned on the RV'S engine and drove away.

It turns out that the guys earlier also had cars, and were now giving chase.

Miki heard something in the radio, and she turned it on, and set the volume to 60.

"You at the camping car, enter the building through the back gate! It's safe!" A female voice shouted out from the radio transmission.

Kurumi, with little doubts in her mind, chose to drive to the back gate and drove inside. As the gate closes again, the pursuers turned around and stopped chasing.

The group slowly got out of the RV after the engine shuts down. They are met with a girl wearing glasses who seems to be another otaku, a  ponytailed girl, and a long black haired girl.

"More survivors, huh? It's a pleasure to meet you." The glasses wearing girl said.

Kagami looked at the gate they came into.

"I'm sorry for the problem. Those guys are barbaric as hell. I'm Deguchi Touko... Welcome to St. Isidore University."
