Chapter Eight: Five Minutes

I stare at the book until Peeta comes back down. He places his hand on my shoulder which startles me making me drop the book. "I'll get it." he says. I don't move. He picks it up and recognizes it. We haven't touched that book in years. "Katniss it's okay it's just your family's plant book." he says "I know. It's what is inside of the book that bothers me all of those memories of before you were taken by the capitol." I answer to upset to be carful, but it does not trigger any flashbacks. "Katniss we can use this book as a lesson for our children." he says "ok." I give in. We lean in for a kiss but are interrupted by the ding of the oven. "ugggghh. five minutes that's all I ask for." I say annoyed. Peeta laughs and shakes his head as he walks into the kitchen to the oven. He takes the bread out of the oven and puts it on the table to cool. "Katniss we have had 3 days to ourselves. Well now that I think about it we haven't really had any time to ourselves. I thought we could have today but we have a guest upstairs." He says pointing to the stairs. "Yeah." I say disappointed. "Well I guess I should go check on him." he says. " I got it." I say walking upstairs. I find Haymitch and he still isn't awake. I think of away to get a day for me and Peeta to have to ourselves. I go downstairs and tell Peeta that I need to show him something outside. He walks outside with me and when he isn't looking I run back inside and lock the door. I hear him banging on the door but I ignore him. "KATNISS!" he screams. I run into the kitchen and fill a pitcher up with really cold water. I then get some towels and walk to where haymitch is sleeping. I roll him over hoping he doesn't wake up. He moves but doesn't wake. I let out a sigh of relief. I put the towels over the bed and roll Haymitch back over. I set down the water and go get one last thing. Rope. I get back to Haymitch and tie him up. I pour the water on him and he screams making Peeta try even harder to get in. I grab Haymitch and tell him to shutup. I walk downstairs and out side with Haymitch still tied up. I am panting because he is heavy and I am pregnant. Peeta just stares at me. "Just go inside and don't ask." I continue to Haymitch's house and I take him to his room and grab a blanket. I untie him and wrap him in the blanket. "Sorry about that." I say "Whatever." Haymiych says bitterly. "It was either that I threw you out the window." I say. "It's just me and Peeta want some alone time." "I understand sweetheart." says Haymitch. "Go on." I walk home and Peeta looks at me questioningly. "I don't want to talk about it." I say sitting down on the couch. "Okay." he says.
