Chapter 13: The Truth

I wake up to the sound of someone crying softly. "Peeta what's wrong?" I ask wrapping my arms around him. "It's not me." he says "Well than who is it?" I ask "I don't know." he replies stubbornly  "Look at me." i say smirking "Fine. You win it was me." he says sarting to cry again. "Peeta. Please. No." i say starting to cry myself "I just miss my family. I know my dad was the only one who half-way cared but their still my family." he says now sobbing " I know you do. I miss Prim. It's all my fault the people we love along with other innocent people are dead. They are dead because i faked. They are dead because i didn't listen. They are dead because i rebelled. They are dead because of ME!" i say making Peeta stare shocked at our visitor who stares back with sleepy eyes. "Mommy? Who's dead because of you. You never killed anyone. Who's Prim?" she asks staring at me. I look at Peeta. Now i have to tell her everything. Mine and Peeta's part in the games, and the rebellion. The hardest part will be Prim. i take a deep breath and begin "Well many years ago, before daddy and mommy got married, even dated, there was a cruel sick twisted event that ocured for 75 years called The Hunger Games." i explain drying my tears and then Peeta's. Julianna jumps on the bed. " Daddy got picked and mommy volunteered. We were takin away from our families for a few weeks. If daddy wasn't strong and mommy wasn't a hunter we would have died and you wouldn't be here right now. We had to go into an arena with 22 other people and fight for our lives. We had to kill many innoccent people to stay alive. Mommy didn't really know she loved daddy him but daddy knew he loved her." i say and Peeta nods in agreement " Daddy saved me and i saved daddy. We protected each other. We won the games but next year when they came again we had to do it again but this time mommy was picked and daddy volunteered for Uncle Haymitch." i say "UNCLE HAYMITCH WAS IN THE GAMES!?" she asked shocked at this information. "Yes. Daddy and mommy had to make allies or friends with the others. Unfortunatly we did not pick our friends Uncle Haymitch did. Uncle Haymitch wanted to protect us so he got half of the others to keep us alive at all costs. It was just me, daddy, Finnick,Beetee,Johanna, and Enobaria. Beetee made a plan that backfired. Mommy and Johanna took the wire and started unrolling it. Someone cut the wire and tried to hurt us. Johanna hit mommy and dug out her tracker so she would be safe. She then ran away. Mommy heard an explosion so she ran to the tre and so Beetee lying on the ground. She looked for daddy but couldn't find him. Finnick came back for mommy but she didn't trust him. I wrapped some wire around one of my arrows and when the lightning struck i released my arrow that blew up the arena. Uncle Haymitch took a hovercraft that rescued me, Finnick, and Beetee. When i woke up i found Finnick, Uncle Haymich, and Plutarch talking about something when i went in the door they told me that the Capitol had taken daddy and Johanna. I got very upset. As a result of my actions the president bombed District 12. The survivers went to District 13. Prim was my sister she was only 12 when i volunteered for her and that's where this mess started. I don't regret it either. If i never volunteered i would never have fallen in love with daddy. When we attacked the Capitol they dropped bombs and when Prim went in to help they dropped more and they killed her. When i was pregnant with you my old friend Gale came and started hitting me and daddy. Johanna and i tied him up in the woods to punish him. i went back later and let him go. He found a shortcut and beat me home. He hurt daddy really bad. I found Gale in the woods and killed him. I left him there with an arrow in his stomach to die." i say sobbing. Peeta is now holding me in his arms and Julianna comes up to hug me. " Don't worry mommy. I love you no matter what."
