Chapter 2

THOMAS POV:

"We eat here, sleep here, we grow our own food and build our own shelter" said Alby. He turned to face me. "What ever we need the box provides" said Alby. "The box" I asked looking at it. "Ya, they send it once a month with fresh supplies and a new greenie. This month that's you. Congratulations" said Alby. I was confused and looked at Alby. "Sent up by who? Who put us here" I asked. "That we don't know" said Alby. "Hey" said a voice. We turned and saw a blond boy walk up to us. His hair was perfect, his eyes sparkled, and everything about him looked perfect. I smiled. I think I'm staring. The boy looked at me and I looked away blushing. "Green bean meet Newt. When I'm not around he's in charge" said Alby. Newt held out his hand. I shook it and saw Newt blush a little. "Don't worry there will be plenty of time to get to know each other but for now go find Chuck" said Alby. "Alright" said Newt. He started leaving. "Look I'm sorry to rush this" said Alby. We started walking.

"The box came up late and there is a lot to do" said Alby. I looked back at Newt. He turned and looked back at me. I blushed and Newt just smiled. He's cute. Alby took me to a tree fort. "Hope you're not afraid of heights" said Alby looking down at me. "Come on" said Alby climbing the latter. I followed him to the top. I could see everything. I saw Newt and smiled. I then saw who he was talking to. Gally. Am I, jealous? I mean I guess I am gay and like Newt but would Newt actually date Gally? 

NEWT POV: 

I signed annoyed. "The greenie isn't going to get them out of the maze okay" I said crossing my arms. "Well just make sure you don't tell your boyfriend what we are" said Gally. I put my arms down. "He's not my boyfriend" I blushed. "I saw how you and that shank looked at each other" said Gally. I signed annoyed and stopped blushing. "Gally, the greenie could be straight like you. Besides even if he isn't it's not like we can turn him into a halfing or anything" I said annoyed. It's impossible for a human to become a halfing. 

"You can if you sting him and then cover the stung area in griever blood" said Gally. I frowned and slapped Gally. I leaned in to whisper. "WE ARE NOT DOING THAT. YOU HEAR ME? THAT WILL ONLY BE DONE AS A LAST RESORT AND DON'T YOU DARE TELL THE GREENIE WHAT WE ARE" I loudly whispered angrily. Gally just rolled his eyes. "Then make sure that the shank stays in his place" said Gally. He left and I signed annoyed. That was bloody pleasant as always. Note the sarcasm. I went back to work until it was quitting time. Chuck seemed to be handling the greenie pretty well. I walked around the glade until there was some commotion by the doors. "Ok calm" said Gally. The shuck happened now? We all started running to the doors. "DON'T TOUCH ME" the greenie yelled. "Just relax" said Gally. The greenie turned to us. "WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS" the greenie yelled. "Just calm down alright" I said as I stopped running. "NO, WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME WHAT'S OUT THERE" the greenie yelled. "We're trying to protect you" said Alby. "It's for your own good" I said. "ALRIGHT BUT YOU GUYS CAN'T JUST KEEP ME IN HERE" the greenie yelled. "We can't let you leave" said Alby. "WHY NOT" the greenie yelled. The maze sounded.
