Now we know. Now we know Gianna has separation anxiety. Now we know Gianna has depression. Now we know Gianna has a personality disorder.
We all had our suspicions and predictions, and some were right. I'm not happy she has to deal with these mental blocks, but I'm relieved that we know what's going on. As her dad, I have to do a lot more for her. Dr. Park said for the separation anxiety I need to talk to her every time I'm about to leave her, or if anyone is going to leave her. and when I'm with her, I have to remind her she's safe. Anxiety is not fun. Anxiety is being nervous and anxious all the time, about everything. I have to help her through it. As for the depression, I have to keep her occupied, she needs to know not everything is bad. I have to keep a close eye on her eating and sleeping habits, and I have to make sure she knows she's ok. The personality disorder shows that Gianna can switch emotions really fast, I have to be patient and understanding, but I can't let her get out of hand. Her being angry, not wanting me to leave her, her being excited over the littlest things, crying over the littlest things, not wanting to eat, it's all apart of her mental disorders.
She was prescribed medicine that we can give her when she is out of control on angry rages, there is medicine to make her sleepy and calm when she gets stressed out, and there is antidepressant medicine we can give her when she's in a rut. I don't think I want to use any of those though. it feels wrong to me, but if it means her getting better, I'll do it. Dr. Park had mentioned we should treat Gianna like a little kid, I thought the opposite. She needs to become more independent, but according to the doctor, babying Gianna will help her realize there are people that are there for her. I'm going with the doctors words on that one.
It has been a couple days since our doctors visit and we've decided that Gianna needs a break from school, she'll take online courses once a day for two hours starting next week. that also helps for when we are away.
Since the appointment, we have been trying to make improvements around the house and in daily life, all of us have. Dr. park said she needed structure and routine, but not a schedule. Every day at 11 Gianna had to be in bed, on the couch, or anywhere else where she could be calm. She can watch tv, play on her phone, or cuddle, anything that isn't active. Gianna said she wanted to do her class in the morning, so at 9-11 she does her class. after 'school' we always do something together, daddy daughter time. It could be in the house, at the mall, anywhere. and the rest of the day we just went with the flow, mostly hanging out with the guys.
There are changes, and so far Gianna has been good about it, the boys have been a huge help too. So far so good.
GIANNAS POV
Right now we're at louis' playing in the pool. It's so much fun, we're all laughing and having a good time.
"Let's do chicken fights!" Harry yelled.
"I call Niall!" I said and swam to him. he hoisted me up on his shoulders and we started to wrestle Harry, who was on top of Liam.
We tried pushing each other off but Niall held my legs really tight, there was no way I was falling. I heard screaming and yelling from everyone. my dad was on Harry's side, and Louis was on my side. "punch him! punch him Gia" Louis yelled. I started laughing and punched him in the chest. He fell a little, but Liam held on to him. mother fucker. Niall suddenly got really low in the water and sprang up, causing me to fly off onto harry, knocking him over. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen, I can stop laughing! "we win! we win!" I chanted.
"Ooh, tough blow ladies." Dad started reciting pitch perfect. "in chicken fights, whoever loses contact first loses, and Niall threw you off his shoulders before Harry fell off of liam" he sounded all professional like.
