Of course, Chaeyoung always thought that if she ever got a text message again she would personally pack up all her belongings, burn her phone and her citizenship paperwork, find herself a new name and identity, fly to Fiji, and live in a hut for the rest of her life.

Bu of course that couldn't happen. Not even as she sighed, tossing away her phone.

Her ability to approach the situation so nonchalantly is what shocked herself.

Who was this person all of a sudden? And just when Jennie came back?

Chaeyoung didn't want to be that person, but it seemed like Jennie's reappearance was connected to the relapse of blackmail and insults. And Jennie Kim herself was a pretty shady girl, just stating facts.

She literally dated a guy who was in a gang, she bullied a girl with possession and personality issues—not to mention there used to be a lot of toxicity between the four of them—disappeared for two years, suddenly came back, has a child that lives in a completely different city, and was even suspected for a murder?

She was pretty, so that's why no one second-guessed it.

The brunette rolled over onto her stomach, grabbing for a bag of chips. She was just about to enjoy her senior year peacefully. It was a bummer things couldn't go that way.

Chaeyoung had even had it all planned out. In a few weeks it would be their senior week-long field trip at the heavenly woodland resort north of Waterside. All the seniors in the previous years used to talk about it, especially the Kissing Rock in the middle of the woods where a lucky couple would go on the night of their bonfire.

Chaeyoung wondered if that would be her and Jimin. The spot was obviously reserved for one of the Queens and their special somebody, considering everyone worshipped them (not literally). But maybe it would be Taehyung and Jennie.

But, just thinking, doing it so out public and in the woods, she doubted that they would settle for that. And maybe the woods were unsettling for Jennie. She had already encountered way too many hair-raising events in the woods.

Chaeyoung liked the woods, however. She liked hiking, the outdoors. It just always smelt good, like pine and fresh air. It wasn't something she could ever get tired of. She loved it.

Jimin always used to say whenever they got time, they should totally go out for a picnic in the woods, but they never got around to it. Always busy, and whenever they even had time, she either spent her time lazing around at Jimin's house. Or the other way around.

When was the last time they had a proper date?

Fall Formal? But that didn't even count. She had been spiked pretty much the whole time and all they had done once they reached her house was pass out on Chaeyoung's couch.

Come to think of it, they didn't even go to the afterparty!

She sighed, tossing away the now empty bag of chips. Chaeyoung was about to reach for her bottle of soda, when her phone buzzed.
