"Jennie, I feel like it's been way too long since we've done this."
"You're right Namjoon, it has been an awfully long time. Almost like three years now." Jennie grinned, turning to Hani.
"Are the parties still as wild as they used to be?"
"I mean, now we have people vaping and doing all sorts of disgusting shit, so yes, in a way it's more wild."
"Isn't Jisoo coming too?"
"Yeah, I heard Jin invited her." Hani mused. "This kind of place suits her style."
"Jisoo is definitely...a wild one." Jennie snorted. "I would get myself a can of beer or something, but I have some important stuff to do here."
Hani arched a brow. "Well, knowing you little Miss Up-To-No-Good, day you're with me. If they ask who you are—"
"Ruby Kim. I'm a cousin of Ahn Hani's, and I'm a freshman in college in New York City. I just stopped by for a visit." Jennie finished, cracking a smile.
"You act like I forgot the identity I used whenever we went to these things."
Namjoon grinned. "Well, I'm Kim Namjoon, and I am her boyfriend."
Jennie grinned more, suddenly feeling the strange feeling of bliss, though it was hot, packed, and dim-lit in the dorm room. It was noisy too, but the overwhelming feeling that Jennie missed being that jovial party girl with no issues left a nostalgic feeling.
She knew it would never come back again.
"You two have fun together. I'm gonna' go socialize."
"Jennie," Namjoon called out, grabbing her elbow gently.
"Just be careful, okay?"
"You know me." Jennie winked at him. "I know my way around." She turned with those final words, disappearing into a different corridor.
She could see people getting drunk, some smoking near the door. She had yet to see Jisoo yet, though she didn't mind if she didn't see the girl.
Jennie hadn't told any of the girls that she would be here. This was a side to her that they didn't really know, that they didn't need to know.
This was the Jennie that originally got herself a mile deep into her troubled life. Just because she messed with the wrong people and trusted the wrong people.
She had come a long way since then.
"Do I know you?" A female voice called out, catching her attention. Jennie turned, eyeing a female who she recognized instantly.
"Didn't think this was your scene, Momo." Her lips quirked at the sight of her silent boyfriend standing near her.
Momo shrugged, black skirt tight on her legs, showing off her toned legs. Tying her hair up into a high ponytail, she flashed a lopsided grin to Jennie.
"You could say I want my own answers."
Jennie smiled, nodding at her boyfriend. "You just follow her around?"
He rolled his eyes. "It's not following around."
"It is." Momo chimed, earning a soft glare from her boyfriend. "But he doesn't trust anyone in Waterside, so he insisted he's around all the time."
"That's cute. You're like her bodyguard."
"Should I be watching her from you?"
He held Jennie's gaze for a few seconds, before the BIC started laughing.
