Ruby's pov

Toni walks back into the caravan after completing a little ritual outside. She tells me not to interrupt her so I usually just watch. Not in the creepy way. Just in admiration. She's so captivating and gorgeous. And what she does is very intriguing, even though I nearly know what she's doing half the time.

"What are you doing?" I ask her as she looks through her cabinets. She sighs and sits next to me on the bed, very close to me might I add. It's been two days since the whole aphrodisiac thing happened and it seems like she wasn't upset about it. We haven't spoken about properly like I would've liked but at least it's not weird between us.

She leans her head on my shoulder and I'm certain she could hear my heart beating faster.

"I'm looking for some ingredients to make a incense but I ran out." She turns to look at me and smiles. "Let's go on a treasure hunt. Well more like a herb gathering walk but we can make it just as fun." She stands up and gets a hoodie and a little backpack before throwing my denim jacket at me. "Let's go."

We walk out into the forest we had taken a break in. Apparently we're halfway to her coven. I'm kind of nervous though, I'm basically going to meet her parents even though I'm not actually her girlfriend. I'd like to be though, just imagine that.

The sun is hidden behind grey clouds and it's a little windy. Something inside me makes me feel uneasy. Like there's something wrong. I don't want Toni to be out here when that wrong thing happens.

"Toni, what exactly do you need? How long will it take." I say looking around as we go deeper into the forest and it gets  darker.

"I just need some blue sage and cedar. Why? What's wrong?" She asks sensing my discomfort.

"I just..I don't know, I'm getting this weird vibe from this place. I think we should go."

"Ok, we'll quickly get the herbs and go." She says walking over to a shrub, picking the herbs.

Then a howl breaks through the the forest making us both jump as birds fly away in fear.

"We need to go..." I tell Toni.

"Wait..that was a cry for help. We need to see what's going on." She runs off to the director of the howl before I can stop her.

Obviously I need to go after, I've grown very protective over her in the last few days, I just have to make sure she's ok. The old man did say we need to be careful.

After a minute of panicked running, I see she's stopped and is crouching over a huge wolf that looks to be in immense pain. The low growls and whimpers show that they've been hurt badly, along with the blood that's puddling around them.

Toni gasps and nods quickly with tears in her eyes. She seems to be talking to the creature somehow, I'm guessing the creature is a werewolf in its form. All I can do is stand there feeling upset about their pained expression, it looks like they've been attacked by something or someone. And I don't think they'll make it.

Toni nods one final time as her hands start glowing, hovering over the creatures body. Her tears fall and I notice that they're a black glittery liquid instead of a clear colour tears.

'everything about her is so stunning and unique.'

The creature starts to glow as well then breaks away into specks of shimmery dust that blow into the sky with the wind. I remember her telling me she could do that, a spell that helps you cross to the afterlife. I never knew it'd look so graceful and heavily.

Toni stands up looking broken and I pull her into a hug. "What happened?" I ask her gently. "Someone was hunting her down...it was a rogue vampire I think." She answers angrily. She looks like she's thinking about something, like she knows what all this is really about.
