Ruby's pov

"How...how'd you find us?"

It's the only thing I can think to ask her right now. The hope I have because of her making my already frazzled mind dizzy. If she's here, she'll be able to help us out of here.

"Easy, I just followed the sound of your whining." She then stands in front of me with a relieved smile, showing me that she's joking. "I'm glad you're ok though."

She then snaps her fingers and the shackles around my wrist unlock. Not expecting the sudden weight on my legs, I fall to my knees. I hear Ivy chuckle lightly with a raised eyebrow.

"I think I like you kneeling in front of me. It reminds you that you should respect me. Then again, Toni and Iris will just think I'm being bossy again."

She helps up carefully and I flinch at the pain of my wound. She hands me a dried looking leaf and tells me to eat it.

"It'll help with the pain. At least long enough to get out of here." I nod and do as told, wanting to get better so I can find Toni.

When I'm ready to leave, I follow Ivy out. She had managed to open the door silently and now we're slowly climbing up the stairs. I suddenly feel something around my shoulders, realizing that it's a cape similar to hers.

"It'll help us blend in if we bump into anyone. You're bloody white shirt will be too much of a give away." She says not looking back at me, her eyes focused on the long hall were on. I look around, looking at the cold gray stone walls with haunting looking pictures of people dressed in drab clothes.

"I can't actually believe she made this her hideout. As idiotic as all her plans are, this is the worst of them."

"What do you mean...?" I ask softly still mesmerized by the creepiness of it all.

"This is her family home. A castle her ancestors had built centuries ago. They had a very gothic taste, stereotypes of typical vampires but after some time passed, they left the castle to adapt to the changing times. She seems to be the only one in her family that's taken interest in it recently, which is stupid because it's such an obvious place to find her. I'm glad your not as idiotic."

I smile at the compliment, it's not the kindest but I'll take what I can get.

~~~~~~~~
We've been weaving through the halls for several minutes now and I feel like we're getting no where near finding to Toni.
My strength is slowly coming back to me but in still weak. Though I could care less at the moment, all I want is to find Toni and leave awful place.
"Where exactly are we? This place is huge and it's giving me a very eerie feeling." I say looking around. This time it's just filled with vines and old armor on the floor. It's getting lighter and I think it's because we're getting near the exit.
Ivy stays quite, noticing that I'm realizing that were going outside. Before I could voice my confusion I here something. A whisper of a voice. The voice I've been longing to hear during this situation.
"Did you hear that? Toni.."
I stop trying to find where it's coming from. I can't hear what she's saying exactly but I hear her.
"Only you can hear her. It's your bond, one of the things that happen when your soulmate is a witch. You'll be able to hear her and see her in visions and speak with her telepathically. But not while you're weak." She turns to me, her face forlorn and serious as she sighs and speaks her next words.
"We have to go."
"What do you mean? Toni is still inside. We need to go get her."
She shakes her head as if telling me that we can't do that.
"No, we're not leaving her here, not alone with Kara." I start to get hysteric, the thought of leaving her behind making my head spin.
"It's too dangerous to go get her now. I came to get you because you are more at risk than she is. As much as it pains me to do....We have to leave her."
"It's not an option. I'm not leaving her! I'll just go get her myself!"
I turn and try to walk towards the direction of her voice but I'm frozen. All control of my body completely gone as I try to move.
"I'm sorry. I know it's something you don't want to do, trust me I don't want to do it either. But it's the safest option we have."
I feel myself being moved back as Ivy's footsteps fills the silence. As hard as I try, I can't get out of the hold she has on me, the spell is too powerful and I'm in too weak of a state to fight against it.
All I can do now is watch as we eventually leave the castle, my heart breaking as move further and further away, leaving my Toni behind.
~~~~~~~

I don't know where we are but it's somewhere deep in a forest. It's quite dark but the moon provides enough light.

We stop and I feel myself being moved gently to the ground. I start regaining control over my body and I stand quickly, ignoring the slight stiffness and pain.

"Why did you do that?! Why did we have to leave her?!"

"Ok, look, as much as I admire your urge to protect Toni, I'm going to need you to calm down and keep quiet." She says looking over to a dirt road near the trees we're behind.

"We need to go back! We need to-" I'm interrupted by her casting another spell, making me silent without choice.

Then we hear voices. Two figures walk past as they talk without a care in the world.

"What's Kara going to do with that chick when she's done with the transfer?"

"Not sure...probably torture her then stake her. She really hates her for getting with her ex."

"Shit, we better get back to guarding her. If she gets out, Kara will murder us."

"Nah, don't worry. There's no way she's getting out."

They carry on talking, their voices getting quieter as they disappear down the road.
"You see, the priority at the moment is to get you out and to safety. Kara needs you for her plan to work but there's obviously no love lost if she hurts you."

I look at her, slowly understanding why this has to be done.

"Toni will be safe. As deluded and psychotic as Kara is, she'll never hurt Toni. Trust me ok, I'd never leave my daughter if she was in danger."

I finally nod and let go the reckless plan to rescue Toni. It hurts to leave her but I guess this is our best option.

"Besides, you know as well as I do that Toni is very capable of taking care of herself." She smiles at me before releasing the spell. I smile back and follow her.

'I'll be back for you Toni.'
