Ivy's pov

~before finding Ruby~

"We know where they are right? We should just go there, kick ass and bring Toni and Ruby back home. Not that hard right?" Gina announced as I paced up and down in front of the fireplace, deep in thought and beyond stressed.

"It's too dangerous. There's six of us and an army of them, we might as well be asking for our deaths." Amber says quietly.

Everyone chatters and argues and make suggestions on what we should do and how to go about this but they get nowhere. It's all a tricky situation and we're all struggling to find a solution.

I stop abruptly, causing everyone to turn to me, pausing their discussions.

Iris looks at me, her expression showing she's beyond concerned. I look back at her, silently trying to give her comfort though I highly doubt that's any help considering I'm in a similar state she's in.

"I have an idea, but you're not going to like it." I say to everyone but stay looking at her since I'm actually speaking directly to her.

She furrows her brows trying to figure out what I could possibly be thinking of doing and why she wouldn't like it. She stands up, moving closer to me before speaking up.

"Why won't I like it?"

"Because I have to go alone."

"But, if you go alone, how are you going to get both of them without being spotted? We don't even know what they have that could harm you." Sam argues, not liking the idea either.

"She's leaving her behind..." Iris answers in a soft, nearly broken voice that makes my heart clench, finally figuring out what I need to do.

"Leaving who behind?" Dominique asks worried.

"Toni."

Looking at everyone, I see a mix of reactions that are all proving that I was right about them not liking the idea. Before anyone can object, I begin to explain.

"As much as we hate Kara, we know that she's desperately in love with Toni, meaning that she wouldn't do anything that hurt her too much. This also means that the blood we found, though belonging to Toni, wasn't actually from her."

"How is that possible? That's not possible unless..." realisation hits them as Sam speaks.

"Ruby drank from Toni, her blood is in Ruby's veins." Iris speaks up still very softly.

"Knowing that, it's safe to assume that she's the one that's wounded." I sigh as I take a seat with Iris, holding her hand before continuing.

"Kara hates Ruby for not only being the Royal Blood as prophecy foretold, but for being Toni's soulmate as well. She's been seeking both the power and love of Toni, wanting to be by her side as the most powerful being in our world. Knowing Ruby has what she wants so desperately is fueling her hatred."

"It's her, she's the evil! The presence I saw and felt in my vision." Dominique says. "I should have seen it coming. Why didn't I see it coming?!"

"Dom, sweetie, don't blame yourself. All of this has to happen, for the prophecy. But since Kara has Ruby, I need to go get her back because she's obviously going to try and kill her and somehow transfer the prophecy. She probably found a way to do so if she's kidnapped them."

"But the prophecy says one of us will die. You...You could be..." Gina says, not being able to complete the sentence.

" I know, and that's a risk I have to take, that's why I need to go alone. I'll be careful. I'll be able to sneak in and out without detection. I'm the strongest one here so if it happens that I am caught, I'd be able to get out of there. Just trust me on this, it's the only plan we have. Toni will be safe..as safe as she can be til we're able to get her. She's a smart girl, I'm sure she'll figure it out and play along when she hears that Ruby's escaped. And when we have Ruby safe with us, we'll be able to fight Kara with her help. She is the Royal Blood after all and I'm sure there'll be some vampires that'll come to their senses when they see her power."

I stand up slowly and make my way to the door, flicking my hand to bring the things I may need to me.

"I'll be back by morning hopefully. If not...if not, then be careful."

With that I leave, not wanting to stay too long and looking into Iris' eyes, knowing the amount of emotions running through them would shatter me. I know she's afraid but I need to do this.

As I walk down the stairs and onto the dark beach, I hear the door open and fast footsteps run after me before I'm turned around and pulled into her arms and her kiss.

"Come back to me." She says looking into my eyes with her tearful brown ones.

"I promise, I will."
