Ivy's pov

"What do you mean they're gone?! They can't have just disappeared!" I try to keep my composure but it's kind of impossible to do so when you're daughter is missing.

"Honey, calm down. We'll find her, and Ruby." Iris says trying to calm me down but I can see she's also extremely worried. We can both feel that something is really wrong.

A storm is brewing, resembling my mood and making it harder for us to search as the clouds hide the moon and the wind blows harder and harder by the minute.

'...I don't like this....'

"You guys, I found something....." Sam says, the tone in his voice sounding very hesitant.

Iris and I walk over to where he stands, both of us freezing at the sight of Toni's blood in the sand. My eyes instantly went black, the power being drawn from my anger as I try to conclude what could have happened.

"Gina!" I bark out, my tone so dark and deep it's almost unrecognizable. "Turn wolf and sniff out the scent."

She does as told immediately, not wanting to anger me more. Once she's done, she changes back and tells me something that confirms my fear.

"It's faint, but I was able to detect it. Both of them were here," She pauses, trying to compose her worry, "and so was Kara."

Toni's pov

I was back in the room I woke up in. She had locked me in, using some charm I assume, because I couldn't get out no matter how hard I tried. It's probably something similar to the incense she drugged me with since every attempt I make to escape makes me weak.

Her words echo through my mind, repeating themselves like a broken record.

I basically have to make a choice between saving the love of my life and saving the entire world. And to make matters worse, whatever I choose will ultimately lead to tragedy.

When Kara bought me back to the room, she explained her plan to me smugly, feeling proud of herself. Her lust for destruction has grown since I had left her. It genuinely scares me.

The door opens and in walks an unfamiliar face with a tray of food, my favorite food as a matter of fact. A creamy butternut soup with a side of fresh bread. It'd be a kind gesture if I wasn't in this sort of situation, considering how much I adore this soup. But no matter how much I like this meal or hot hungry I am, I'm not going to even dare take a bite. It could be spiked.

The stranger puts the tray down before looking at me, looking as though they weren't actually present judging by their blank stare.

"Mistress wishes for you to eat your meal, to regain your strength for the Great Rebirth of our world."

The voice is monotonous and slightly concerning. But what's more concerning are the words that were said.

'..Great Rebirth? What the.....'

"Is that what she's calling this? Her endangering everyone is a rebirth?"

I don't get an answer. The zombie-like being just shuffles to the door to leave. But not before looking at me and giving me a smile that looks to be on the brink of insanity.

"It'll be glorious."

And once again, I'm alone with my thoughts. Worried about my well-being but mostly that of Ruby's. And now there's this painful feeling in the pit in my stomach that what the stranger spoke proves how much Kara believes in this "vision", a false prophecy she aims to make come true. All with my help.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Baby, why haven't you eaten? You do know that you need to gain some strength for what's going to happen. It's practically days away and I need you at your most powerful."
I glare at her but she ignores it, still giving me a loved-up smile before taking the soup and sitting in front of me.
"Come on, eat sweetheart.."
I keep my mouth close as she tries to feed me, I can see her patience slowly leaving her. But I stand my ground, making her finally snap and put the spoon back into the bowl.
"Why are you being so stubborn! You need to listen to me, I need you to listen!"
"I haven't agreed to anything. You can't force me to be part of your messed up cult!"
She pauses and stares at me with what I can only describe as a deadly stare, as if if I were to say anything more that she definitely wouldn't want to hear, she'd lose all self control and harm me. That frightens me and I don't think I can hide it because her expression changes to one of extreme smugness before she continues.
"My sweet, sweet Toni. I'm disappointed that you actually think you have a choice, I only said you did so it'd seem like your own decision. I thought you were smarter than that."  She comes closer to me, taking my chin into her cold hand surprisingly gently, knowing very well I can't move away from her anymore since I'm basically connected to the headboard behind me.
"My love, you will do anything and everything I command. If not, your precious Ruby will never have the opportunity to breathe again. Your family will be tortured and killed as you watch helplessly. I'll make your life a living nightmare for all eternity. Your entire world will come crumbling down around you and you will not have a way out. You, Toni, must be my perfect little queen to this new world, obeying me."
I try my hardest to hold back my tears, but the images of her words come to life in my mind; Ruby laying lifeless in that cold room, my family screaming for mercy before silence takes over indicating their end, the world full of darkness and evil, and me living in this hell.
"What happened to you? What made you so rotten?" I ask her with a bitter taste in my mouth.
She only smirks then chuckles, coming closer to my face. Her eyes pierce into me as her cold breath fans over my lips.
"Nothing changed. I'm still the girl you once loved. Only now, I have a purpose. And you, my love, will help me fulfill it."
She then brings her lips onto mine, not caring that I'm not returning the kiss as she manages to get past my lips where I can taste her against my tongue. I start to feel weak again, the room getting darker as she deepens her awful kiss.
By the time she pulls away, I'm already limp in her arms, barley able to grasp on my slipping consciousness.
"I expect you to be more compliant when I come back, I really hate drugging you like this."
And so she leaves, as I lay there in the horrid midpoint of being awake and being asleep, not able to move or speak until she deems my punishment enough.
'someone please help me....'
