Chapter Eleven: Problems

Silas pulls the car into the spot designated for him. He gets out and paces to my side but I open the door and get out before he reaches me. Our silence was cut by chatty students walking by and laughing. I saw Elena and Caroline walking by and they turned straight to us. 

"Hey, Katherine. Nice outfit." Caroline compliments

"Thanks, Care. It's not my outfit though." 

Caroline looks at me confused like she wants to know what I mean.

"It was meant for Amara. She doesn't need it anymore though. Anyway, our very first class starts in a few, so we have to go." 

"Wait, What do you guys have?" Elena asks not mentioning Amara

"I have microbiology with Kholer and Silas has Trig with Cables." 

"I have microbiology with Kohler right now too and Caroline has Trig with Cables but those are both sophomore classes. How did you get them?" 

I let out a chuckle and Silas decided to join in with me.

"It seems you forgot that I have a vampire daughter Elena."

"Well if she compelled for you to start in sophomore year why didn't she have you and Silas get the same classes?" Caroline questions

"Why?" I ask

"I just figured with what happened at the party that you guys would stick together." 

"Well what happened at the party won't happen again, Damon won't be stupid enough to try to kill me in front of people. Plus I can protect myself, I don't need Silas to come to my rescue." I explain

"That party was in public." Elena added

"Yes, but the attack happened upstairs where nobody was at. I thank you guys for being so nice to me, even after-" I got cut off by Elena

"We know. Everyone deserves a second chance. We are going to be late for class, here I'll walk with you." 

"Yeah, I'll catch up. I have to talk to Silas."  I turn to him

"Yes?" He asks 

I don't say anything as I stand on my tip toes and place a light kiss on his lips. 

"I'll be safe." I whisper in his ear then place my right hand on his cheek, I remove it walking away. 

I can feel his eyes on me as I make my way towards Elena who was waiting just a few feet away.  

"What was that?" Elena asks motioning her head to Silas who was still standing there, not moving.

I ignore her and start walking. "Elena, we are going to be late." 

"Yeah, sorry. Let's go."

Silas's POV

I watch as Katherine walked away, a million thoughts running through my head. Elena motions her head towards me and Katherine looks at me. I wonder what they are talking about. I just stare at them as they walk away. I see a hand waving in front of my face and I snap out of it.

"Are you okay Silas?" I hear Caroline ask me

"I'm going to marry her one day." 

My mind jerks back when I noticed I said that. I looked over to Caroline and she looked at me surprised.

"I'm guessing I didn't imagine saying that, huh?" 

"No, you didn't. Has Katherine told you how she felt?" She asks
