Chapter Nineteen: Problems

I look around at all the people drinking and dancing. I get off the phone with the pizza guys when Elena walks up to me. 

"Hey, where is Caroline? She wouldn't miss this." 

"Did you not go to the dorm?" I ask

"No, I came straight here when I got here, I'm going to go check upstairs." She goes to walk away

"No, wait! I'll go. You stay here." 

"Oh, okay." I hear as I walk away

I walk up the stairs and make my way to her room, slowly. I knock on the door this time making sure that she opens it. It's a few seconds before I see the door open and Caroline standing there.

"Is he still in there?" I ask

"No, he left. I was actually about to come down to the party." 

"Well good because that's why I was coming up here." I walk out but then I stop and turn around

"So you and Klaus?" I ask, walking back into her room

"It just happened, only once. But then it happened again, and again. I don't know why I did it." She looks at the ground

"You know why you did it, you feel something for him. So tell me, now that you slept with Klaus, How was it?" 

She smiles and I smile along with her. 

"You slept with Klaus?" I hear from behind me

I turn around and see Tyler with an angry look on his face. She walks towards him

"Tyler?" She says in a low whisper

"He killed my mother Caroline. He's taken everything from me." 

She gets closer to Tyler. "I'm sorry." She goes to touch him

"Stop!" He yells pushing her off of him, showing his hybrid face. 

She jumps back and I stand in front of her. "You need to leave, now," I demand

"Or what?" He steps up to me 

Before I can say anything Tyler is shoved away and pinned against the wall.

"Calm down." I see Stefan

"Get off of me!" Tyler shouts at him 

"What is the matter with you?" He asks

"Oh, you don't know? Caroline screwed Klaus."  

Stefan turns around to look at Caroline and she looks towards the ground and then slowly back up at Stefan. 

"Come on Caroline, let's get out of here." I walk over to her and go to lead her out of the room

"Exactly." I hear Tyler behind me 

Before we leave Stefan punches Tyler in the face. 

"She didn't deserve that." He spats out and then walks out

"Let's go guys." 

"Stefan, I'm-" Caroline gets cut off 

"Don't apologize to me. I of all people shouldn't judge others for who they slept with. Remember? Rebekah and Katherine. No offense." 

"Hey, none taken. Don't worry Care, I've slept with my fair share of bad people too. Tyler's just being a dick." I smile

She smiles back at me. "You guys are so great." She laughs

"Hey, there you are," Silas says walking over to us 

"Hey." I wave and smile at him 

I give him a quick kiss and grab his hand. I look up at him and I see him smiling. "What are you looking at?" I ask 

"Nothing, you just look beautiful. Ready to go to the party?" He asks

"Yeah. We will you see you guys down there." I wave to them

"They are so cute." I hear Caroline say

"Yeah." 

                                                                                                        ...

"Took you long enough." Elena walks up to me

"Caroline is right behind us." I look over to the stairs and she and Stefan come walking down 

They walk over to us when Caroline suddenly stops and her eyes move to something behind me. I turn around and see Klaus standing there looking straight at us. 

"Caroline is everything okay?" Stefan asks

"Yeah, I have to go deal with something." She goes to walk off 

I stop her. "You don't need to worry about him right now. Go have fun and get drunk with Stefan and Elena, I'll talk to him."

"Katherine," Caroline says

"Don't worry about me. He can't hurt me." I assure her

"Who are you guys talking about?" Elena asks

"Nobody. I'll see you guys in a minute. Silas, you stay here." 

"Okay." 

I leave everyone and walk towards Klaus. He smirks as I walk up to him.

"If it isn't the doppelganger I tried to kill." 

"Tried and failed. What are you doing here Klaus? Caroline doesn't need to talk to you." I question 

"I'm not here for Caroline, I actually came to see you." 

"Why?" I ask

"You were brave enough to let me know you were alive and even more brave to snap my neck. I should kill you for that, for everything. But like I have said before, death would be too kind, so I have another proposition for you." 

"I want nothing from you." I snap 

"Heh, not even your freedom?" 

"And of course it comes with a price. Isn't that right?" I look him straight in the eyes 

"I wouldn't be me if there wasn't one, Katerina." 

"My name is Katherine." 

"I know, our darling Elijah seems to love to call you Katerina though." He smiles 

"He's not our darling Elijah, he's only yours. Remember what I said in that letter, shame on him and you. He didn't even visit me when I was dying and he says he loved me. Now, name your price. Anything for my freedom." 

"As you know I need doppelganger blood to make hybrids but since Elena became a vampire, Well, you can figure out the rest." He says

"You need my blood to make more hybrids." I finish

"Exactly. I have a daughter that needs more than just me and my family's protection. So you give me an endless supply of blood to make these hybrids and you will get the freedom you have wanted for the past five hundred years." 

"It's a very tempting offer, Klaus. I'll take it. Even though it was fun running from you, I really want to know what freedom feels like. There are just two extra things I want with my freedom." 

"What are those?" He asks

"First, even though Tyler is no longer sired to you, something needs to happen with him. Not death, Caroline would hate you after that, but he almost killed Caroline earlier because he was mad because he found out about you guys. That's going to be a problem." I finish

"Done. And the second thing?"

"I need your help to kill Damon."
