Chapter Twenty-Two: It's Been A Weird Day

Silas's POV

She hangs up on me and that's the moment I throw my phone at the wall. It shatters to pieces as I run my hands through my hair. I'm breathing hard as I look around for something else to throw. I see a glass and as I'm about to throw it I see the bold letters on the mug. 'BEST BOYFRIEND EVER!' I remember the day Katherine got that for me, we were bored with nothing to do and she decided she wanted to go out, and we did.

Past

"Silas." She whines poking at me "I'm bored." 

"Are you now?" I look away from my book over to her  

"Let's go out. Anywhere." She pouts her lips at me

"Fine. Let's go." 

We went all over town that day, going from store to store. At the end of the day we stopped at an ice cream place and she told me her order and she went to look around. When I got everything she walked up to me with a bag in hand.

"Don't get too excited, but I got you a little something." 

She hands me the back and hold our cones for me. I look from the bag to her and she smiles. 

"Well, hurry up and open it." 

I do as she says and remove whatever was in the bag and took the wrapping paper off from around it. I wrapped my hand around the handle and I saw it, in big caps and bold writing. I look up to her and she is looking at me. 

"Do you like it?" She asks

"I love it." I smile at her

She raises her lips to mine and places a quick kiss on them.

Present

I smile at the memory and place the mug back down on the side table. 'what have I done'I think getting up off the bed and walk over to the dresser and get my car keys. I get in the car and start driving towards Mystic Falls.

Katherine's POV 

I get out of the shower and get a towel and wrap it around me. I go to the mirror and wipe the fog of the mirror with hand. I stare at my reflection and I'm glad to see that my eyes aren't as swollen and red as I thought they would be. I open the door and call out to Elena.

"Hey, do you have any clothes I can borrow?" I ask

"Sure, give me a minute." She replies

I close the door and a few moments later I hear a light knock and I open the door. Elena hands me the clothes and I quickly get dressed. I look at myself again in the mirror and walk out the door. Everyone looks at me when I come out. 

"What?" 

"Your eyes. Are you okay?" Caroline asks

"Me? I am totally fine." I say tossing the towel on the bed

"Your eyes are all puffy and red. You've been crying, what happened?" 

"Oh nothing. I'm tired, I'm hungry, I need coffee, I broke up with Silas, the usual stuff." I shrug my shoulders

"Wait...You broke up with Silas?" Caroline asks 

"Yup." I take a bite out of a chicken tender 

"Why would you do that?" She snatches the food out of my hand

"Hey!" I go to reach for it but she pulls away 

She looks at me and raises her eyebrow

"I know I'm not the most trustworthy, but I'm pissed that he said I would choose Stefan over him." 

"Would you?" Damon cuts in

I look at him and roll my eyes. "A couple years ago, yeah. But now it's a definite no." 

"He obviously doesn't trust you." Damon says

"Shut up, Damon." Caroline hits him on his arm 

"I have done nothing but prove to him that it's him and not Stefan. I've never once brought up Stefan and I's relationship but he's all 'Amara this' and 'Amara that'. Also, he tries to compare me to her so if anyone is still stuck up on an ex, it's him. And Damon, but his is directed towards hate. You know?"  

"Not sure why I'm involved in this." Damon looks at me

"You got involved the moment you asked that question." 

"That's a lot you have bottled up in you. Maybe you should try talking to him." Elena states

"If he doesn't trust me then what's the damn point. Now, give me my food back." 

Caroline gives me the plate of food.

Silas's POV

I walk into the boarding house and something slams against the door near my head. 

"Watch where you're throwing stuff, jeez." 

I walk farther into the living room and see a broken chair and glass all on the floor. "What did I walk into here?" I look around and see Qetsiyah and Stefan

"Stefan and I were just having a little disagreement." She looks over at me

"Oh, I know that face. It's not a good face." I chuckle

"What are you laughing at?" Qetsiyah snaps

"I just think it's funny." I smirk 

"What?!" They both look at me 

"He knew you were crazy, he knew you had trust issues, and yet he still kissed Katherine. Now he's got my girl thinking I don't trust her." I look towards Stefan 

"With the way you walked off and left her last night I don't blame her." 

"Maybe if you didn't kiss her then we wouldn't be here." I retort 

"You guys are pathetic." Qetsiyah laughs

"How so?" I ask her

"Fighting over Katherine. Come on. Stefan isn't in love with her and Silas you're still stuck up on Amara. Stefan's right, she shouldn't trust you. You'll screw her over in the end just like you did me. She's better without you and that's why I'm going to solve everyone's problem." 

"How are you going to do that?" I ask

There is a moment of silence when Stefan looks past me.

"Silas?"I turn around 

"There you are Katherine. I'm sorry about last night, I didn't mean to get so mad. I know it's not your fault, I don't want us to be over." I go to walk up to her

"Silas, I'm not Katherine." Her voice is low but soft

"Amara?"
