Lucas and Max were watching a scary movie together and Lucas was just terrified. While Max peacefully ate popcorn, not even gasping, all Lucas did was grab her arm when the worst scenes came on. Max was starting to be kind of pissed at him, because honestly, aren't girls supposed to be more scared than boys?
She was grabbing a bunch of popcorn when suddenly, something apparently scary happened and Lucas grabbed her arm, causing her to let go of the popcorn bowl. The popcorn flied through the room and Max made a pissed face.
"Lucas! Could you please stop grabbing my arm? Especially when I'm trying to eat popcorn!" she complained, taking some popcorn out of her hair. Lucas didn't let go of her arm, though, just grabbed her tighter.
"But it's scary. Why aren't you scared?" Lucas asked. He was amazed by her girlfriend's braveness. "It's not scary," the girl replied, "and I have more important things to think about than a masked man killing people."
"More important things?" Lucas asked, his head shooting up. "What things?" Max thought back to Mike visiting Will at his place, and both of them being so awkward... did Mike know about Will's feelings towards him? If he did, what had he done about it? And what had Will done? She had so many questions and she couldn't get any answers.
"Max?" Lucas asked, when he saw that she wasn't answering. Max woke up from her thoughts and smiled at Lucas. "Nothing, really... Billy, my stepdad, all those things" Max said, and Lucas instantly knew she was lying. He knew her. Whenever she lied, she didn't look at him in the eyes, and she tucked her hair behind her ear. Why was she lying?
Max felt bad for lying to him. Even if she doesn't really have the right to tell him what's going on in her mind because that's Will's and Mike's choice to tell him, she still feels guilty. Her and Lucas don't keep secrets from each other. Since she's not really sweet and doesn't like couple stuff, that's the least she can do for him- not lie to him.
As she tries to convince herself that she's not doing anything wrong, and he tries to convince himself that it's nothing important, they both try to act normal as she hadn't just lied to him and they both knew.

Dustin was sitting down in the sofa doing nothing, just thinking, when his mum sat in the sofa next to him with Tews in her arms. "Dustin," she said, with her sweet voice, but Dustin was too busy thinking to even notice his mum was there.
"Dusty!" Mrs. Henderson said, and this time Dustin actually reacted. "Yes, mum?" he replied. "What are you thinking about? You've been pretty distracted since you went to the arcade with your friends" the woman said, and Dustin smiled lightly.
"Nothing," he replied, but the woman knew too much about teenagers –she'd been one herself –and knew that that smile on her son's face meant there was a girl somewhere. "Oh, come on, Dusty" she said. "Who's the girl?"
Dustin opened his eyes, surprised. His mum never really seemed to realize anything, she actually still had no idea that his son had been in constant danger of death in the past two years, and now she realizes about this?
He blushed a little bit. He was really open with his mum, but they'd never really talked about this stuff. "Just some girl I saw at the arcade," he said, shyly. "Aw! And what's her name?" she asked, leaning forward.
"I don't even know her name. I don't know her yet" Dustin replied. "But she's so pretty. There's just something about her that attracts me, and I don't know why... she kind of seems like a nerd, just like me. She doesn't seem like the other girls" he said, before realizing he was talking too much.
