Will shifted away from the boy slowly opening his eyes again. His heartbeat was so fast he felt like he could just fly away any second. His hand rested in his waist, managing somehow to look as if he were calm, and the other's hand was in his cheek. When they finally looked into each other's eyes, Will felt shivers down his spine. Had all of this really happened or was it all a dream?
*earlier that day*
Mike and Will were sitting in the sofa, continuing their Star Wars marathon while Joyce just cooked some quick lunch for the three of them, for Jonathan was having a date with Nancy today.
Will wouldn't stop looking at Mike. He was trying to focus on the film, he really was, but every five seconds he felt the need to see the boy's face so he would quickly look at him hoping that he wouldn't notice. Mike noticed, of course. He was just trying to ignore it, because what was he gonna do about it? It's not like it bothered him that someone found him so handsome.
"Okay, guys," Joyce said, from the kitchen. The boys turned around to look at her. "I'm gonna go now, but don't worry, I'll be back very soon and we'll all have lunch together. If you get really hungry, don't wait for me."
"Don't worry, mum, we'll wait," Will said, smiling sweetly, as someone died in the movie. Joyce smiled back and nodded her head. "Okay. I'll be back soon then. Just going to quickly visit someone."
Mike and Will shared a look. They had this theory that Joyce was dating Hopper and it was starting to make sense, the woman was spending a lot of time outside lately, which wasn't usual on her.
The teens focused their attention in the movie again as Joyce grabbed her keys and left. "Bye!" As soon as the door closed with a loud noise, Mike paused the movie and looked deeply into Will's eyes.
"So, are we going to talk about what I said, or just keep pretending it didn't happen?"

The doorbell rang. Karen was in the sofa, enjoying some wine while watching the tv. Ted was sound asleep next to her and didn't wake up with the noise. Karen sighed loudly. Why did she ever marry that man?
She got up, leaving the glass of wine in the small table by the sofa, and walked towards the door. She smiled falsely and opened it. When she saw who it was, she actually smiled. "Hello, Joyce!"
Joyce smiled back. The two of them had always been friends since Mike and Will knew each other since kindergarten, but they became closer when Will disappeared.
Karen let Joyce in and she was gonna invite her to the sofa, but she remembered her snoring husband and decided it was better if they talked in the kitchen. "So, how's Will been doing lately?" she asked, politely.
"Great! He has been going through some hard times, you know, discovering his real self... and accepting his real self. I've tried to help his as much as I could as his mum, I did my best, but I'm afraid the real reason why my son is so happy right now is because of your son," Joyce said, and Karen smiled happily.
"I'm really happy that Mike is helping Will so much and that Will is being happy!" she exclaimed. "Yeah, you must have noticed they spend a lot of time together," Joyce said, and Karen nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I noticed. It's like your stealing my children! Mike with Will and Nancy with Jonathan. How's Jonathan doing, by the way? Nancy doesn't like bringing him over a lot, she says we always embarrass her..." she asked.
"Jonathan's fine," Joyce replied, focusing the conversation on Mike and Will again. "But Will's been having an especially hard time lately... because he's finding out his true sexuality." Karen would have choked on her wine if she was drinking any at the moment. Luckily, she was not, so she managed to hide her shocked reaction.
"Oh, um, really? I guess you're helping him find out he's straight?" she asked, and Joyce rolled her eyes. She really hoped she wasn't a homophobe, because she was starting to be pretty sure that Mike liked Will too.
"No, actually, I helped him find out he's gay," she said, as if it were the most normal thing. (it is but it was the 80s and ppl where homophobes, don't come @ me) Karen arched her eyebrows. She didn't say anything, because really, she didn't know how to reply to that.
"That's why I said your son is helping him." Karen then arched her eyebrows even more if that's possible. "What are you saying?" she asked.
"Karen, I am pretty sure that Mike likes Will," Joyce whispered then, Karen making a perfect o shape with her mouth. "No, that can't be. He's dating Jane," she replied, and Joyce was amazed of Mike's lack of communication with his parents.
"He's not anymore. He broke up with her. A few days after Will confessed to Mike. It all makes sense, Karen, I'm pretty sure," Joyce said. Karen shook her head, she refused to believe that.
"There's no way my son is gay. He's kissed Jane multiple times, he loves her. Loved," she corrected herself.
"Maybe he's not gay. Maybe he's bi. Or maybe he only likes Will..." Joyce suggested. When she saw Karen was opening her mouth to speak again, she cut her. "Even if you try to deny it, it's still gonna be true. Your son and my son like each other and it's very probable they'll end up dating. You can't fight against it, love always wins. I suggest you to be a good mother and support your son and his relationship."
Joyce got up without letting Karen say anything else and walked to the door, seeing Ted listening to their conversation behind the door. The man quickly pretended to be minding his own business. Joyce rolled her eyes. She never liked the man. He was such a bad father. And he only got up to listen to someone else's conversation. Rude.
She opened the door and walked towards her car that was parked in the driveway. She did her job. Now she hopes Karen does some thinking and makes the good choice.

Will and Mike were silent for a few seconds. Will wasn't sure what Mike meant. Were they gonna talk about Mike's nonexistent feelings towards him? Because he really didn't feel like doing that right now. Mike was staring at him and making him nervous, so he quickly reacted: he grabbed the remote that Mike was holding in his hands and played the movie again.
"Pretend it didn't happen," he replied, Mike surprised as fuck. He took the remote back and paused the movie again, Will sighing loudly. "I didn't mean it as a question. We're talking about it."
Will didn't say anything; he just stared at the frozen image on the tv. Mike couldn't believe the boy. Did he not like him anymore? He said he was in love with him...
"So, what I said...-" Mike started. "I said I don't wanna talk about it," Will cut him. In his mind, the chance of Mike liking him back didn't exist, so he thought that Mike just wanted to clarify that he didn't actually mean what he said and reject him again.
"But, Will-" "No."
Mike was desperate. He had finally enough courage to talk about his feelings and Will wouldn't let him. "Will, I just want to explain myself," Mike said.
"I said I don't wanna talk about it, Mike!" Will said, in a pretty loud tone, turning to face Mike, and the boy took his chance. He moved forward in an abrupt movement as he grabbed Will by the shoulders, moving him closer too. If he's not letting me explain myself with words, I'll explain myself with actions, he thought while their lips connected.
