Chapter 4

Monday morning. Alec rolled on to his bed, grunting, then looked at his watch. 7 am. It was way too soon. He didn't want at all to go to university. He wanted to stay in bed all day long. But after lying in bed 5 more minutes, he got out of bed, dressed up quickly, left his room and went down stairs to join the living room. Isabelle was already having her breakfast with their parents, while watching the news on television. He didn't say a word, starting to have his breakfast too. He was completely lost in thoughts.

"Hey Alec, are you listening to me?"

Alec came back to reality and turned to the person who just talked to him and made him cut the thread of his thoughts. It was Izzy.

"Hum yes, sorry ... What were you saying?"

"I wanted to know if you could drive me to university this morning."

"Why? Can't you take the subway?"

Isabelle shook her head.

"Oh please, just for today! Since the first day of the year I took the subway. But you, you've got your driving licence and you've got you own car !!"

"Why don't you ask to Simon? He's got his driving licence, right?"

"Yeah but he hasn't classes on Monday morning, just the afternoon. So, you're the only one who can drive me to university."

Eventually, Alec nodded. He wanted to make her happy. And he did because Isabelle jumped from his chair, ready to go.

Why was she always so energic? It was only 7:30 pm! She was starting to hop in all directions, like a little girl to whom we promised to buy her a toy. She took Alec's sleeve to made him stood up.

"So, are we going?" Izzy asked.

"Yeah, but let go of me! Let me at least finish eating!" He said half exasperate, half amused.

After a few minutes, Alec finished to eat and then he went to get his coat and his key car. They said goodbye to their parents and get outside. For November, it wasn't very cold. The sun shines and they was almost no wind.

After Alec said many times to Izzy that he won't let her drive, they got in the car.

In fact, that doesn't bother Alec at all to drive his sister to university. He loved spending time with her. Moreover, her university was on his way before arriving to his own. He had to drive during 20 minutes before seeing the building of the university, and Izzy watched him driving. She was completely fascinated. Alec didn't know that she was so passionate with cars. He would love to afford her driving licence if he could, but he knew that their parents will do it one day or another.

He arrived before the university and noticed a familiar figure who was waiting in front of the doors. He didn't recognize the person directly. But was it ...

"Magnus!" Izzy exclaimed.

She opened the door car hastily and ran to Magnus. Alec followed her, much more moderate in his gestures. Izzy hugged Magnus, smiling. When Alec arrived next to them, she turned to him with a big smile.

"Hi Magnus," He said a little uncomfortable.

Why was he so uncomfortable? He was only talking to a friend. There was no need to be stressed about that.

"Hi Alexander, how are you?"

"I'm fine, thanks ..."

"Well," cut Izzy, "did you like the party? I didn't even ask you. Anyway, I hope everyone had fun.

She looked very worried about this.

"Well, I hope at least that you had fun!" She said.

Magnus turned abruptly to Alec, looked at him in the eyes and smiled, while answering:

"Don't worry. I loved the party."

Alec blushed without knowing why. Probably the heat. Yeah, it surely is that.

"Hum sorry," Alec said, "but I have to go ... well I have to go to university ..."

Magnus was continuing to look at him and this completely destabilized him. He wasn't used to being looked at like that. It was a new sensation ... and he loved that.

"Okay," Izzy said. "At what time do you finish?

"17:30 pm.

"Okay, can you come and pick me up? We can come back home together!

Alec nodded, evasively.

"Great, thank you Alec!"

She kissed him on the cheek and then she entered in the university, followed by Magnus. But just before Magnus entered, he turned around and waved at him. Alec blushed again.

Alec got in his car again and arrived 20 minutes later to his university? All day long, he felt a strange sensation in his stomach the same sensation he felt when he was with Magnus. Several times he had shook his head in order to clear his mind. He didn't know what was happening to him. He was completely lost.

At the end of the day, he went once again to Izzy's university. He arrived at 17:50 pm, so he had to wait 10 more minutes before Izzy had finished. After 10 minutes, she finally saw her accompanied by two persons: she was holding hands with Simon, and the other person was ... Magnus. His heart began to beat faster. Ah that damn sensation! He got out of his car and joined them. He arrived in a middle of a conversation.

"So, I was saying that I have completely failed my English test! I'm studying English and I'm not even able of succeeding a simple English test! (She saw Alec coming) Hi Alec! I'm so happy that you drive me home, I've spent an awful day! I'm sure that I failed my English test!

Isabelle being overdramatic as always ...

"You never exaggerate, don't you?" Alec teased.

He was trying not to think about Magnus looking at him.

"I assure you Alec! I have FAILED."

"Don't be stupid, I'm sure you have been doing well! Come on let's go, I have to go home as soon as possible, I've got a lot of work to do for tomorrow."

Isabelle kissed Simon, for too long according to Alec. Then they started doing couples stuff like hugging, saying "i love you", that they're going to miss each other ... Alec found that a little dramatic. Missing each other? They were going to see each other the next day! Decidedly, Alec didn't understand anything about love. He heard Magnus burst laughing.

"They are so into each other these two, don't you think?"

"Hum? Yes, probably ..."

And here we go again. Always being ridiculous. Well done Alec.

Magnus was looking at Alec and Alec was starting to feel uncomfortable. Again.

Eventually, Isabelle let go of Simon. They said goodbye to Magnus, and Alec looked at him a last time before leaving. Once in the car with Izzy, he asked her something.

"Hum, Izzy?"

"Yes?

"Can I drive you to the university every morning from now?"

She glanced at him, with a look not very subtle. Alec ignored her.

"Of course," She said with a big smile.
