(Carla's POV)
I walked to lunch as I carried my lunch tray with a sandwich and chips on it along with a coke. I found an empty seat towards the back of the lunch room and sat there, alone. I ate my food as I watched other kids laugh and talk with their friends as if nothing is wrong in the world. James came and sat next to me but didn't say anything, not one word.
"Hey Carl why are you here today?" Randy asked rudely. Randy is the worst bully. I didn't answer but sat there looking at my food trying to avoid her.
"I asked you a question" she said pushing me making me fall backwards from the bench to the floor.
"Hey" James said, his deep voice full of anger
"Did your mommy hire a body guard 'cause you were crying like a baby" Randy asked laughing along with most of the kids in the room. James brought attention when he spoke.
"Leave her alone or you'll be crying to your mommy" James said
"Sorry I forgot you don't got a mommy" she smiled evilly "your mommy didn't want you" she said then walked away leaving me in tears
"You alright kid?" James asked helping me up
"No you had to go say something...you made it worse" I said walking out of the room. I stood at the door to my next class waiting for school to be over.
James and I walked home together neither of us saying a word, I was still annoyed with him for making my problem worse. when we got home I went right up to my room passing Michael and Katy talking at the table with papers on it. I closed the door and pulled out my homework laying it on my bed as I put an episode of NCIS on.
"Hey can I come in?" Katy's voice rang through my ears as she knocked softly on the door
"Ya" I said as I continued to do my homework and watch tv. Katy came in and sat next to me on my bed, she just watched me.
"Are you ok" she asked. I could feel her staring at me
"Ya I'm good" I lied. I'm not feeling to good.
"Alright...James said some kids were saying stuff" Katy said
"Nothing I couldn't handle myself" I said giving her a fake smile that she didn't believe
"Want to talk about it?" she asked not dropping it
"No I don't" i said
"James said you got upset with him for telling the kids to stop" she said
"Oh" I said wishing she would leave
"He was just trying to stick up for you, you know" she said scolding me
"I've been dealing with them for a long time and now it's going to get worse 'cause he had to go say something" I said
"He just wanted to help" she said
"I didn't need his help" I said
"He said a kid pushed you" she said raising an eyebrow
"I've been pushed around for a long time I can handle it" I said getting annoyed with her
"I want you to apologize" she said standing up
"For what?" I asked
"For yelling at him...he told me so you can't deny it" she said
"I didn't yell I spoke loudly" I said as she walked out.
