Whats important?
A question we all try to answer
Dog collared, society held the lead
I want to get lost in the rhythm of nature like a dancer
I've chased tirelessly for a purpose
Give me the answers please
And I think I'm finally accepting I will never have one
Perhaps our purpose is to just enjoy and have fun
The remains of a dead star
But who's to say I will not shine?
This is not your journey
but mine
I always said you shouldn't define who you are with what you do
But if I told you I knew who I was
That would not be true
Maybe putting my ego to rest and accepting I am not important
Is much harder than I thought it would be
I didn't realise the weight of my ego
Even knowing that acceptance is key
It is always nice to feel special
But I am no more special than you, you are no more special than me
We all want to feel glory and success
With glory and success comes hurt and upset
So why are we so open to good but not to the rest?
Why do I talk about the bravery of facing your fears,
whilst holding the keys to my heart so close to my chest?
What are we really supposed to do?
Born, raised, until we are ready to spread our wings and fly,
but where exactly are we flying to?
Because amongst the knocks and broken wings,
I still am flying to a destination unknown
Amongst the better landings and head-held high standings,
I am still trying to find a home
