[Theo is new to the preschool class, but he and Liam become best friends quickly.]
"Be good, Liam," Mrs. Dunbar told her four year old son. "Play with the other kids. Be nice.""I know, Mommy. You tell me every day." Liam said smiling up at her.
She stood back while Liam went off into the room to play with the other toddlers while she checked him in for the day.
She turned around to come face-to-face with woman she didn't recognize. She had a child by her side so she could only assume that they were new to the preschool.
Ms. Dunbar smiled before walking past. The woman returned the smile and stepping forward to sign her child in.
The new toddler clung to his mother's arm as she signed him in.
"Come on, Theo. You'll make friends." She led him to the teacher of the class of preschoolers. The horrified expression never leaving his face.
When they came up to the teacher, the teacher smiled at Mrs. Raeken. "This must be Theo! Hi, I'm Miss Taylor." She held out her hand for a shake. Mrs. Raeken returned it. Miss Taylor kneeled down so she was at Theo's eye level. "Hi, Theo. You're going to be with me for the next few days. I hope we become good friends." Theo clung tighter to his mom's hand. He looked up at her before turning back to Miss Taylor. He let go of his mom's hand before running (Not really. It was more of a fast waddle) past Miss Taylor and to the kids playing with the toys on the other side of the room.
Theo's mom and Miss Taylor smiled before continuing a conversation. After a few more minutes of getting acquainted, Mrs. Raeken left. Theo hadn't even noticed her leave because he was too busy talking to the other kids.
He approached one with short, spiky, brown hair and bright blue eyes. "Hi, I'm Theo." He said smiling.
The kid looked up from the truck he was playing with to look at the new kid. "I'm Liam."
"Can I play with you?"
"Yeah." And their friendship blossomed. Theo and Liam soon became best friends.
They were extremely childish. They would run around the small classroom yelling about monsters getting one of them and the other having to save the captured one. It was all imaginary of course. Just the two of them. Sometimes they forced the other kids and the teacher to be in their adventures with them.
One of the adventures was about the knight saving the princess from the dragon.
Liam had gotten in trouble and Miss Taylor was completely fed up with their nonsense. Liam had screamed for no 'apparent' reason (Theo and Liam were pretending that they were getting attacked by a pack of wolves and Liam was getting eaten. Miss Taylor grabbed Liam by his arm and dragged him to a corner of the room. Liam began to struggle against her grip but she deemed stronger.
"Theo, save me from dragon!" He yelled.
"I will!" And he devised a plan to save his 'princess'. Really it was to just jump on Miss Taylor so she would let go of Liam long enough for him to run away.
And he did just that. He didn't have a plan for when he got caught but all he had to do was hit Miss Taylor arm and she let go. He ran off to 'hide' with Liam behind one of the little plastic tables. Miss Taylor sighed in exasperation and just walked away to pay attention to the other kids.
The two thought it was safe and they peaked over the table to see Miss Taylor crouched next to two other kids and watching them color.
Theo turned to Liam and kissed him on the cheek. Liam turned to him in surprise and asked, "Why did you do that?"
"The knight always kisses the princess after saving them in the stories." Theo explained shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh." Liam said simply.
They continued playing different games and every once in a while they would 'replay' Save the Princess, Liam was always the princess and Theo would kiss him every time.
[Writing this bc I have 2 comments acting like they made out. They kissed each other on THE CHEEK. Chill]
