[Theo and Liam learn they are soulmates. Soulmate au. Human au.]
Written on the arm of every person is what looks like a bunch of numbers. It's actually a time. Say your arm says 35:02:01:05:13:09:28. That means you have 35 years, 2 months, 1 week, 5 days, 16 hours, 9 minutes, and 28 seconds until you meet your soulmate for the first time. Theo's said 00:00:02:03:20:48:19. He really only had two weeks until he met his soulmate and he was not ready but also couldn't wait.
He couldn't wait for to meet the only person that would love him forever, or at least until their last breath, because they are still human and can die. His family kicked him out of the house when he was fifteen and had been living out of his truck for two years now. He was trying to attend the highschool in Beacon Hills so he could at least try to graduate.
Theo had printed a school registration formed, forged his dad's signature, because Theo knew he wouldn't do it himself, and was now walking down the hallways of the highschool he was hoping to attend. He couldn't seem to find where the office was, and he didn't really feel like asking anyone but it seemed that he didn't have a choice.
There were only a few people left in the hallways because classes had ended half an hour ago, but there were students from sports and clubs hanging around. A few boys came out of the locker rooms with bags in their hands, a two girls putting up a poster for homecoming, and a couple making out where they probably thought no one would see them but they had obviously not really cared.
He approached the two girls putting up the homecoming poster.
"Uh, hi, I'm transferring and I need to find the office." He asked the girl with the brown hair.
She gave him a once over, obviously taking in his worn clothes, messy hair, and just his all an all haggard appearance.
"Go down the hall, turn right, and it's on the right side of the hall." She directed. She then continued helping her friend tape a corner that wouldn't stay stuck to the wall. She seemed to be struggling with getting the top part of the tape to stick.
"Do you need help?" Theo offered. He had about an extra inch of height on the girl and it was just past her reach.
"I got it." She gritted her teeth and managed to just barely keep the tape stuck.
Theo left her and her friend as he went here he was directed to, finding a door on the right hand side just like the girl had said.

Theo had been going to the school for two weeks now and he still hadn't talked to really anyone besides the homecoming poster girl, whom he had figured out the name of was Hayden. He couldn't really bring himself to talk to any of the other students. Everyone just kind of ignored him. He didn't join any clubs or sports team, though he does watch the lacrosse team practice every few days.
He only had roughly three days to meet his soulmate and he wasn't sure if it would be at the school or in a gas station parking lot because those were the only two places he seemed to be.
The day finally approached. It was the seven minute passing period between second and third period and Theo was already almost late for the class. He was hurrying so much he didn't seem to notice that the numbers on his arm were slowly dwindling down from 00:00:00:00:00:00:07, then six, and five, four, three, two one. He was in such a hurry he ran right into another person just as his timer stopped at all zeroes.
The two boys had fallen over from the collision. Theo rubbed his wrist, having caught himself from the fall on it.
"Hey, sorry." He said, standing up. He held out his arm to help the other boy up when he noticed the number, or number, on his forearm. Theo stared at it in shock. The boy, still on the floor, seemed to get the message and lifted his arm to look at it as well.
"You're my . . ." Theo trailed off. The boy was much too beautiful to be his soulmate. Tousled brown hair, bright blue eyes, and a toned physique. He also noticed that the boy was one of the players on the lacrosse team. He also happened to be one of the best.
"I guess." He muttered. Theo finally pulled him up to his feet.
"I'm Theo." Theo smiled.
The boys smiled back. "Liam."
They started off as best friends, as Liam's actual best friend already met his soulmate. They then took it to the next level and started dating. Theo had to complete the two years of highschool he missed, but Liam waited for him and they went to college together. Liam proposed to Theo. Theo said 'yes'. They both said 'I do' at the wedding. And they both agreed to adopting the little two year old girl named Lily, and raising her as if she was their own DNA. They actually had a happily ever after story.
