Chapter 5: Trouble Thy Name Is Huntress

I stare at my brother's Hunter's face scrambling to come up with an answer. " I.....was trying to see how my...voice sounds in different...altos? Altos. Anyway, what are you doing here? ". I smile at him.

He crosses his arms and stares at me, frustrated. " I saw you run out the classroom and your teacher told me you weren't feeling well so they gave both us an excused absence". He walks over to me and places his hand on my forehead. "You feel a little warm, you're lucky we found you as quickly as we did".

We?

"We? What do you mean by....?" I look around him and there, leaning against a tree with the shadows providing him camouflage is Maddox Gray. He lifts his hand in a wave(which I don't return) and starts walking towards us.

"So we meet again Shadow" he smirks at me. Meanwhile a chill runs down my back. I glance at Tress whose studying Maddox. I look back up at him. "Shadow?" I inquire.

"Yeah, you're sneaky and deceptive plus you blend so....Shadow" he answers me. I stare at him and cross my arms. "So you got all of that from only meeting me once?"

A smile breaks out on his face. " Half from the first meeting and half from your brother. You didn't tell me you were twin, how could you miss such crucial information!?" he fakes like he's about to faint, meanwhile I'm still stuck on the fact that he's with my brother.

Suddenly the world spins and tilts every which way, making me stumble backwards closing my eyes for a few seconds. This doesn't go unnoticed by the guys. " Hunt? Sis, you ok?". I open my eyes to see a blurred form of Hunter, his arm reaching out towards me as if to steady myself. Maddox also looks worried. " She doesn't look too good...maybe we should take her to a hospital".

"No!" I shout, startling them. I shake my head and speak in a softer tone, " no, I'm, I'm fine you guys don't have to take me to the hospital, just give...me a sec". I take several breaths, my heart beating a mile a minute. Maybe, maybe playing with the shadows will help...

With my arms hanging by my sides, I form my left hand into a claw and begin to move my fingers. The second I lift a single finger, pain hits my temple so hard I fall to one knee, screaming. "Huntress!!" I block out the boys voices. Sweat blossoms at my temple, and my vision gets blurry. I stand up only to fall down flat on my back, the back of my head hitting the concrete.

Hunter and Maddox are by my side and I see Hunter with a cell phone pressed to his ear. I catch the words fainted, ambulance, Tuley, and Hurry. Maddox is by my side telling me to stay awake. I turn my head away from him to see  Tress next to me in the same position I am, looking worried. I want to tell her that I'm ok, that everything will be alright. But darkness overcomes the light and soon I pass out.
