At 6:00am on a Tuesday morning I'm the only one awake. My brother is taking total advantage of us not having school while my uncle arrived home late from the station and went straight sleep, dead to the world. My dad is like his brother: dead to the world.

In my cat paw print shirt and dark green PJs, I go down my stairs and make my way to the kitchen. I open the fridge and pour myself a glass of apple juice. As I sip my juice, my gaze lands on a bouquet of white roses sitting on the porch.

I go to the front door and bring the roses in the house. I set them on the kitchen counter and as I'm inspecting them for any bees, I see a card with my name on it written in cursive.

These are for me? Why would someone send my flowers? Maybe they heard I was in the hospital and felt sorry? But no one I know personally would send me a bouquet of flowers....

Curious as to why someone would go to all this trouble I pick up the care and open it. Inside is a poem:

I've watched and loved you from afar too long,

It hurts to be away from  you but I shall stay strong

For I know the love we have is real

And for us to be together I am not afraid to kill

Know that, when I am through

It will only be just me and you

Huntress Winters, you and I

Together for eternity

Do or Die?
