I stare at the mourners faces in the cemetery. I'm in the far back, while everyone else is listening to Ashley and Tyler's parents and friends and families share special moments they had with them. I'm looking for my next victim.

My gaze travels over to my love. She's sitting next to the new kid, Maddox Gray and her brother Hunter. My brow wrinkles in confusion. Why is she sitting with him?.  I wish she was sitting with me.

I don't let my thoughts linger on them too much and soon I'm looking at Detectives Gray and Winter. Ha. What a cliche crime solving team name. Like the new show Whiskey Cavalier. Except I won't get caught. Not until my hunt is done.

I finally spot them standing behind the chairs of everyone else, careful to not let them see that they're being watched. The pastor is saying that Tyler and Ashley died for a greater cause. He's right  I think. They died for love.

I look around at the mourners for my next victims. I spot them. Mr.Charles Wilson,(no relation to Tyler)the math teacher and Quesa Mayfield.

They're sitting in the middle row next to each other. He has an arm slung over her shoulder and she's trustingly leaning into him. To anyone else it would like two grieving people comforting each other.

But I'm the only one who sees it for what it truly is.

I've done my research on all of my victims. I know there's something going on between them. I know she turns to him for comfort.

And he willingly provides it. I'll be doing people a favor, killing you two. He's married, children of his own, all grown up and living their own lives. Loving, doting wife and he hooks up with a sophomore. Disgusting.

Once the funeral ends, I head home to get my things for the job. As I'm packing the materials, I smile, picturing Huntress thanking me, kissing me, letting me be the one to hold her and comfort her.

Nothing will come between us.

Nothing

Dressed in all black with my mouth mask on and hoodie up,  I swing the duffle bag over my shoulder, heavier than usual and head out.

I'll make sure of it.
