After they leave, I head upstairs to Hunter's bedroom with him and Maddox behind me. My dad went to work of making sure the doors and windows were locked.

Entering his room, I walk straight to the wall and place my hand on my shadow and reach out to Tress. Telling her I'm sorry for telling at her, that I just want all of this to be over.

She's rightly hesitant at letting me in. I tell her that after I do what I can to stop Orion in my own way. In our own way.

Tress' form wavers slightly, as if letting out a sigh. I smile as I feel a wave of love and protectiveness off of her. She intertwines her palm with mine and gently pulls me into the shadow realm.

The familiar heat and warmth surround my body and I keep my eyes closed. I'm not hear for the strands, maybe later but not now.  When I no longer feel that I'm in the shadow realm, I open my eyes and stare down at Conner.

At the dozens of arrows embedded in his body. His green eyes stare blankly up at me, wide and filled with terror in his last moments. He was 16. He should still be living.

I shake my head in sorrow. This has to end soon....

I focus my attention on Detective Grey and Winters. My Uncle clears his throat, "it seems the arrows came from that trajectory" he points towards the edge of the parking lot that becomes a small forest.

Detective Grey kneels down next to Conner, what was Conner. She has no expression on her face that I can read so far. She rakes her gaze from Conner, to the arrows and then over to the shooting area.

She stands up. "There are eight arrows in him, maybe because of the number of victims?" She looks up at my Uncle.

He stares down at the charred remains that was Conner Grey. " She was right" I hear him utter softly.

Before his partner can get a word in edgewise he continues, "Huntress was right. Look at him Grey, he was shot with eight flaming arrows. Hades is the god of the underworld. If we listened to Huntress, if you hadn't debated with her....if I stood by her side...".

I look down at Conner. Then he would still be alive, they could've saved them.

Detective Grey clears her throat. "I know, my mistake cost two lives. But there's nothing we can do except try and catch Orion and get some justice for the victims" she tells my Uncle.

My Uncle shakes his head sadly and sighs. " Alright, have the medical examiner take Conner's body for further investigation and let the technicians gather evidence. Let's go observe the other crime scene".

.............................................................

A car drive later and we're outside the Myers funeral home. As they get out of the car, I shadow travel into the home. Only slightly dizzy.

The technicians are already underway, swabbing the surfaces with q-tips and taking pictures. A second later Detective Grey and Detective Winters enter the room and immediately head through a door behind the desk.

I follow them. Inside the back room is rows and rows of coffins along either side of the wall and coffins aligned in the middle.

There's also an open coffin with Scott Myers corpse in it. Looking at him from my shadow hiding place on the wall next to him, they're doesn't seem to be any visible trauma.

If it wasn't for the open eyes look of terror, dried tear tracks on his face and the dried blood on one side of his face, you would've thought he'd had some sort of peaceful death.

A women in a white hazmat suit comes up to my Uncle and Detective Winters with a clipboard in her hand. "It seems he died of suffocation but before that, there seems to be some blunt force trauma to the front of the head beforehand".

Detectives Grey and Winters nod and the women goes away, they then turn their attention to the wall above the coffin he lies in.

To the blood stain dripping down below steadily. To the word written in the blood.
