normally i was super excited to start school again, but today i wasn't super excited to start school again. will wasn't going to be at the same school as me anymore because he got to go to big big boy school. i still had to go to big boy school.

and he moved away in the summer.

"i don't want to go to school."

"yes you do, now hurry up and eat your shreddies, you don't want to be late," mummy said. i don't think she was listening to me.

"i don't want to go to school. and i don't like shreddies."

"alex, i know you're sad will won't be at school with you this year, but you have lots of other friends, and i'm sure you'll see him soon." mummy went back to plaiting elody's hair.

"does soon mean we can see him this weekend? because if it doesn't then i won't go to school."

"alex, he lives in newcastle now—"

"whitley bay," i said.

"—and that's really quite far away from london. come on you," she said, patting elody's head. "both of you put on your shoes, we're going in five minutes."

i was not going in five minutes.

then mummy gave me a rice krispies chocolate square and told me that maybe will would come to london that weekend (she lied) so i put on my shoes and laughed at elody because she put her right shoe on her left foot and couldn't walk properly and got into the car which stank of dog. will's dog.

we took her for a walk before he left and i gave her more treats than i was allowed to and we played frisbee. i was way better than will at frisbee.

then i got sad again because i wasn't walking to school with will anymore and i had to go in the stupid dog car with my annoying lying mummy and idiot sister who didn't know that her right foot is on her right side of her body.

i forgot a bit about will that day because we played sticky toffee at break time and i only got stuck three times (a lot better than anyone else). then for lunch we had roast dinner and i gave my broccoli to the weird boy who likes broccoli and i got extra custard on my cake. we didn't even have to do any numeracy or literacy because we started our topic about castles.

when i got home i annoyed my sister and played club penguin, and i got a black puffle called wil lenee.

mummy forced me to eat my broccoli for dinner.
