"it's been too long since i've done this." will whispered, kissing down from my collarbone to the centre of my chest. i hummed, craving him more and more after every touch. every connection set off a small firework within me.

his clear blue eyes looked down at me and i could see the genuine pain in them. usually they held the world within them, it was so easy to get lost inside. now, the blue connoted sadness.

"it's okay al," he murmured. "i'm okay. you're okay. don't worry. just lie with me for now." he rolled back over on to his side and pulled me close into him.

after a while, i think we both pretended to be asleep, making our breathing slower and staying completely still. we probably both knew the other was awake, just thinking about all manner of things.

like how i loved him so much that sometimes it hurt.
