Chapter One

"Look Kate I don't need this alright," I yelled through the phone to my publicist

"Yes you do Jo! If you want to get back in this business you need this publicity stunt!" Kate yelled back

"I just hit an inspirational bump in my life, I'm barely 19 Kate this isn't the end of my career. I don't want to be one of those artists using someone else for fame!"

"Just give it a shot Josie! If you don't like him if this doesn't work then you can end it okay? Deal?" Kate reasoned

"Fine," I sighed wanting to get her off my back already. I really didn't want to go along with her scheme so I planned on trying my hardest to get the guy, whoever he might be, to not like me. In less than a week, Kate was able to find a suitable artist for her plan and today was the day I'd be meeting him. I told Kate not to tell me who it was because I honestly didn't care, I just wanted him to basically hate me so I'd never have to go along with this plan. We planned on meeting at Kate's office, but I took my time because I really was not ready to meet him. I was already 15 minutes late because I decided to stop and get coffee. I walked into the building with coffee in my hand when my phone began to ring, it was Kate. I kept on walking while reaching into my bag to grab my phone when I walked into someone, leaving a fresh coffee stain on my clothes

"Holy shit I'm so sorry!" An Aussie accent spoke above me

"No it's totally fine, it was my fault!" I reassured him picking up my now empty cup from the floor. I stood up and found him staring directly at me with his mouth wide open. He had deep brown eyes and black hair with a towering height, he looked just about the same age as me too

"Good job lad ho-" A multicolored hair boy came walking behind him before stopping next to him to also stare at me

"Guys I've been looking for you everywhere!" a boy wearing a bandana said while running behind them and stopped in his tracks once he saw me

"Uh hi?" I said trying to hold in my laughter because of how ridiculous they all looked staring at me. I've had a lot of fan encounters but I could never get used to how people would just stop and stare once they saw me

"He-hey," The black haired boy said clearing his throat

"I love you," The multicolored hair boy blurted out receiving a small punch in the stomach from the boy with a bandana

"Ha that's really sweet I love you too," I said genuinely placing a hand on his shoulder which he stared at as well

"Uhm- did- did Calum spill that drink on you? I think we should all pay for it or at least get you a coffee? I mean anything you know," The boy with a bandana began rambling but I politely cut him off

"No no! It was totally my fault I wasn't watching where I was going! I'm Josie though it's nice to meet all of you," I smiled hoping this would stall me from having to meet with whoever Kate set you up with

"I'm Ashton, we know who you are," The boy with a bandana smiled holding out his hand which I shook

"I-I'm..." The black haired boy stuttered

"This is Calum," Ashton said for him

"And this is Michael," Ashton also said pointing to the multicolored hair boy

"Hi," Michael smiled . I felt my phone vibrate once more and I knew that was my que to leave

"It was really cool meeting all of you," I smiled

"Uh- before you go do you mind taking a picture us?" Ashton asked

"Yeah of course!" I said happily

I asked a nearby security guard who I knew because of how many times I've been in this building. I hugged all of them before leaving, while I was in the elevator up to Kate's floor I checked my phone which had eight missed calls from her. I slowly entered the room not knowing what to expect to find Kate glaring at me.I took in a deep breath and found a blonde boy sitting on the couch staring at me

"Well now that you're finally here, I'd like you to meet Luke Hemmings, lead singer of 5 Seconds of Summer," Kate said dragging me over to him. When he stood up, I could swear that he was at least 6 feet tall

"Oooh lead singer, Kate you must be proud of yourself for finding him," I said sarcastically holding my hand out for him took shake

"Why hello there lead singer of what is it? 5 seconds of summer? I'm Josie Castano it is your pleasure to meet me. You must feel so honored to meet someone with such prestige and grace isn't it?" I said rudely. I hated the way I acted but if this was what it would take to get Kate to understand how much I didn't want to do this then I would do it. His expression was shocked to say the least, he didn't have any idea what to expect but he was far from expecting this.

"Mr. Hemmings we will be one moment," Kate said grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the room

"What the hell is your problem?" Kate snapped once we were completely out of the room

"You said if this didn't work out then we wouldn't do it, obviously it's not working out," I said slyly

"Josie get your act together this is for the good of your career,"

"I don't want this, I don't want to date him just for fame God why can't you just get that?!" I said starting to raise my voice

"I've known you long enough to know that you can't keep this act up. This is the complete opposite of you and he already signed on to a contract which binds you two together for at least three months," Josie said

"Three months?! That was never a part of the deal!" I yelled

"It's too late now, he signed it so you have to deal with it," She finished walking back into the office.I let out a frustrated groan before walking back in

"Alright what do you want us to do?" I sighed plopping on the couch next to Luke

"Three months of dating with each other, your careers will sky rocket then have a massive break up that will rock the world," Kate said acting like it was such a simple plan

"And if the plan doesn't work? Then what?" I asked

"You two are young good looking successful artists I'm sure you'll both have a little fun in these three months," Kate smiled

"Doubt it," I heard Luke mutter under his breath

"Why? Isn't this what you signed up for?" I snapped at him

"No princess it isn't," he said staring me right in the eye

"Can I leave now?" I groaned

"You both can leave actually cause paps are waiting outside so get ready for the start of your relationship," Kate said leading us out

"Let's go pretty boy," I said gesturing to L.uke as we entered the elevator

"We're gonna be together for three months the least you can do is not act like you have something up your ass every second," he muttered crossing his arms

"Oh really? I have something up my ass? If you didn't sign the damn contract then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place," I said starting to raise my voice as I faced him

"My bandmates put me up to this alright? I didn't expect you to be such a-" he stopped himself but he was still standing inches away from me looking down at me

"To be such a what?" I prodded

"A bitch," he finished still glaring at me

Right at that moment the elevator doors opened. The paps were standing outside of the building and taking pictures through the glass
