I...am a whale. Alois has decided to make my belly expand like a balloon. My hips have packed on some weight as well as my thighs. I'm no longer as thin as I was a few months earlier in the pregnancy. It's awful--and most of the weight has gone towards Alois as well as my hips. It sucks. I was so scared that I would be developing breasts--but that hasn't happened yet. My ankles were swollen the other day to the point where I couldn't wear socks let alone shoes. They've gone down substantially, but they're the only parts of my body that have.

I make my way to the kitchen, wincing every time I feel my beefier thighs chafe. I normally waddle now just to avoid that.

And Alois--oh my God, Alois!--he's decided that kicking me constantly in the rib cage is the most fun he's ever had. If I knew being pregnant would be this awful...I probably still would be bearing this burden. It just isn't fun right now.

"Leave the kitchen now, Finney," I hear my father call from behind the kitchen door. "The beast is on her way here."

"I don't think (y/n) appreciates being called a beast," Finney replies. He opens the kitchen door and cringes when he sees me. "Hello, Miss Grace."

"Hello, Finnian," I reply as kindly as I can. "Is Ash in the kitchen?"

"Y-yes, he is."

"Thank you," I mumble as I make my way into the kitchen, accidentally bumping into Finney along the way. "Sorry about that."

"Miss Grace, what are you doing here?" My father suddenly asks me as though he doesn't know. "Your tea is almost ready."

"You said that Undertaker was coming today," I grumble under my breath. "I feel like I'm going to explode."

"You do look rather close to it..." my father mumbles to me. "And you won't be able to actually go into labor..."

"I already know that," I reply. "Today is the day, right?"

"We've already discussed this," my father tells me with a heavy sigh. "Today is most definitely the day. He's probably busy trying to corral that crossdressing scum and that other Reaper in his district. They have to come all the way here from London, you know."

"I understand that," I murmur as I sit at one of the kitchen tables. My babybump rests heavily on my lap now and I can barely stand the sensation of Alois kicking me in the ribs. "I haven't been able to sleep for days, Ash," I mumble. "I know it will only be worse after I give birth...but at least you'll be able to suffer with me."

"I refuse to waste a breath on that bastard child of yours," my father spits. I know he wants to say so much more to insult this baby and his father...but he holds back for my sake. "...I shouldn't be so hard on you. It was my own advice that go you into this position. You have shown me love for so long; it is only fair that I now return the favor. You so desperately need me now."

"What I desperately need is to get this baby out of me."

A loud bang wakes me from the nap I was taking in order to make up for the lost sleep Alois has caused me. I sit up slowly and brush my (h/c) hair out of my face. Maybe it's my father finally come to tell me that Undertaker is here. My chamber doors slam open and I'm rather surprised to see Undertaker rush in with complete enthusiasm. If it wasn't my father, I was expecting it to be Grell at least.

"Ah! Well if it isn't Mr. (y/n). Your life seems to 'ave gotten quite interestin' in the last year, 'as it not?" He places his hands on Alois and feels around my belly. His hands are freezing, so I hiss a bit at him. "Eh-heh, 'ow neat that this 'ere is the soul that belongs to our troubled Jim Macken!"
