I stand in the doorway and watch Sebastian dress our son for his first day of the first grade. It's hard to believe that Alois is six years old now. He sits on his fancy bed as Sebastian kneels before him, trying to button Alois' shirt for him. Alois playfully unbuttons every single button that Sebastian buttons the moment his fingers move on to the next. Alois reminds me of his former self when he does things like this. Sebastian sighs heavily, an annoyed expression resting on his face. "If that's the way you want to do things..." Sebastian stands up tall before his son and suddenly picks Alois up. I watch with a playful smile as Sebastian slams Alois down on his bed and begins to blow raspberries on his little tummy. "See what happens when you don't let me button your shirt?" I hear Sebastian say through his and Alois' giggles. "You're much too vulnerable this way!"

"Daddy!" Alois whines loudly. "Why are you dressing me so early anyway?" He pouts.

"Ask your mother," Sebastian grumbles. He doesn't want Alois to start school yet. I need Alois to be as normal as possible...and out of my hair...so he is definitely going to school today--just like his big brother.

"Mama?" Alois calls to me.

"What is it?" I ask him as he skips over to me. Alois looks at me with a big crimson eye and a big lilac one. His hair is styled just like it was in his former life. I wrap one of his white locks around my finger like I often do before I begin to button his shirt. "What did Daddy say to you?"

"Are you sending me away?" he asks quietly, those wide eyes beginning to glisten.

"Not at all," I tell him. "Daddy is just teasing you. You're going to go to school, just like Big Brother Ciel."

"What was that?" a deeper voice calls down the hall. Alois smiles and runs toward Ciel. Sebastian and I were both rather surprised to find Ciel aging as he matured. Even though he's nineteen now, the boy only looks sixteen (he really hasn't matured that much). Ciel lets Alois cling to his leg, adjusting the sleeve of his jacket as he glares at the boy. "What do you want?"

"Mama says he's going to make me go to school like you do!" Alois whines softly.

"Well it's about time. I think he's coddled you enough. And you're smart enough now..."

"Is Ciel actually complementing Alois?" Sebastian asks as he steps out of our son's room. "Has the apocalypse finally begun?"

"I think it's obvious that I can mature, you know," Ciel grumbles. "And I'm rather thankful for that."

"Aren't we all," I reply. "Sebastian, are you going to finish getting Alois ready for school, or will I have to?"

"Can't we wait one more year?" Sebastian asks me in a quiet, whining murmur.

"Come on, Ciel," I mumble, ignoring Sebastian completely, and I take Ciel's hand and lead him away from Alois and Sebastian. "I'll make you some breakfast."

"That sounds nice," Ciel replies.

"It's how I intend to repay you for watching over Alois today. I hope you understand that it's your responsibility to make sure he returns home in one piece."

"I figured that I would be the one with that burden."

"Alois is no burden and you know it."

"Who dares to call Alois a burden!?" an angry voice sounds behind us. I turn to find Soma looking annoyed with Agni standing behind him. Some things never change. "Alois is the most precious child I have ever laid my eyes on. How could someone dare to call him a burden?"
