He looks at me, crimson eyes wide with shock. He doesn't look angry, so I'm relieved that all he feels is a heavy wave of surprise. "I named him Alois James Michaelis," I tell the demon softly. "I gave our baby Trancy's soul in order to save it. He's so beautiful, Sebastian. You must see your son."

Sebastian's face looks numb as I take his hand and gently drag him down to our son's room. His fingers slip out of my grasp as soon as we get to the door. I enter the room happily while Sebastian remains outside. "I-I can't have a son," he tells me softly.

"You do have a son," I reply. "He's perfect, Sebastian. Even Jasper thinks so."

"It's not possible..."

I roughly grab his hand again and drag him into the room. Sebastian is starting to worry me. What if he hates our baby? What if he hates me for having our baby? It'll be just like it was in my nightmare. I don't want Sebastian to hate me. "This is Alois."

Sebastian hesitantly looks down into the crib. His eyes hold even more shock than before and he nervously reaches in to touch the babe. "He is beautiful." Sebastian silently draws his hand back and removes his glove before reaching back into the crib and gently touching our baby's forehead.

Alois' eyes open wide the moment contact is made. He looks up at his father for a moment before he begins to cry rather loudly. Sebastian draws back quickly and backs up until his back against the wall. Is he really afraid of his own son? I reach into the crib and pull the blubbering infant in my arms. "Sh..." I whisper softly to him. "Don't be afraid, Alois. That's just your daddy."

"He hates me, (y/n)," Sebastian tells me softly. "We shouldn't have a child. It can't love me."

"He'll learn to love you," I tell Sebastian softly. "You woke him up; that's why he started crying. Don't worry."

"It's because he hates me," Sebastian insists. "Alois Trancy hated me. Surely whoever has his soul will as well...even if it is my own child."

"This baby doesn't hate you," I tell him. Alois has stopped crying in my arms and now lies peacefully. "Hold him."

I hold the infant out for Sebastian to take, but he stands there nearly cowering away from the baby. "What are you so afraid of?"

"I've just got you back, (y/n). Now this child is going to take you away from me again."

"No one is taking me away from you," I tell him. "You're pushing me away."

With that realization, Sebastian weakly holds his hands out to take his son. I place the baby in his arms and watch as he brings Alois closer to his body. "He's not crying," Sebastian murmurs.

I watch with both an ecstatic and relieved smile as Sebastian begins to coddle his child. He brings his finger forward to Alois' face and pokes his nose tenderly. Alois quickly bites that same finger and holds on for dear life. Sebastian starts to freak out a little bit and rips his finger from the baby's mouth. That's when Alois begins to cry. "He's still part demon, you know," I mumble to Sebastian as I take the crying baby from him. "He's probably hungry. Let's go to the kitchen and give him some warm milk."

Sebastian holds his finger close and follows as we walk to the kitchen. I sit in a chair by the kitchen table with Alois wrapped up in a blanket in my arms, watching as Sebastian begins to prepare warm milk. Jasper comes over to me and jumps in my lap just so that he'll be close to my baby.

"What happened to Ciel?" I ask Sebastian quietly.

"So much has happened...but in the end, I am the one left to suffer," Sebastian replies just as quietly. "Ciel is a demon now. But I am obliged to serve him until I take his soul...since I can never take his soul...I am to serve My Master forever."
