"En Garde!" Alois shouts, his voice ringing throughout the entire mansion.

I part my lips from Sebastian's and let out a quiet sigh. "He's at it again..."

"Ciel probably isn't too happy," Sebastian replies with a smirk. He pushes me off of him and stands up. I don't know why he loves to watch Alois and Ciel fence so much. Alois had beat Ciel for the first time when he was fourteen. They were fairly matched. But now that Alois is nearing seventeen, he can beat Ciel without a second thought. And Ciel hates it. Sebastian and I head to their little playroom to watch.

"I'm done with this!" Ciel yells back at Alois. "There's no point if you're going to win so easily every time."

"You're no fun," Alois pouts. Yet his eyes hold an uncanny mischief as he stares at Ciel's frowning face. "I would have Agni fight me, but he's an old man now. Just like Uncle Soma."

"Hey!" Soma shouts from his seat as he watches the two. "I am not that old!"

Alois rolls his eyes playfully and points his foil at the prince. "Would you care to challenge me then?"

"I'll challenge you," Sebastian suddenly calls. He lets go of my waist and walks over toward his son. Ciel hands him his foil and walks over to me, glaring at Alois along the way. "You can't be considered the best until you beat me. And don't mock Agni's skill just because he has a few wrinkles."

"Don't call Agni old!"

"What do you mean by that?" Alois asks Sebastian, completely ignoring Soma's outcry.

"Believe it or not, Agni and I are evenly matched," Sebastian tells him, readying his stance.

"Really?" Alois asks in reply, happily curious about one of his strange uncles.

"Would I ever lie to compliment anyone?" Sebastian smirks and their battle begins.

Alois is fast and he takes the offensive side first, but his father is faster. My son has to quickly switch to defense once he realizes that his father has the upper hand. But that doesn't make it a one-sided battle. Alois it strong and quick and can block anything his father throws at him. It's rather impressive to see someone stand against Sebastian so strongly like this. It goes on for a while, endlessly entertaining. Their foils meet violently, clashing together with such a great force that they break.

Alois frowns a bit and looks his broken foil over. "That makes it a draw..." he says softly. "I'm as good as you now, Dad!" he shouts with a childish grin.

"I suppose you're correct," Sebastian reluctantly admits. "At least I can be proud to call you my son."

Alois smiles at the compliment, brightening the entire room. Even Ciel can't hold onto the frown that seems to be etched into his face. We watch as he wraps his arms around his father--who stiffens at the flamboyance of his son. Our son often acts like Alois Trancy would--but his personality is now so much kinder and gentler. Alois Michaelis can't stand the thought of hurting anyone. That's why even Ciel loves him.

"Hey, Mom?" Alois call to me after a while. "Can we go riding later?"

"Of course," I reply softly.

"You want to come too?" he asks Ciel.

"Fine."

Alois claps his hands happily. "This is why I like school vacation."

Pluto walks lazily alongside our three horses. Sebastian didn't want to come--not that Alois invited him in the first place. He said that Grell would be stopping by and he didn't want the Reaper to follow us into the woods. Sebastian absolutely hates it when Grell is around Alois (Alois hates it too). I've never seen him so angry. Well...I have seen him angrier once or twice.
