We've spent a year planning for this. Ciel even let Sebastian send Bard and Tanaka (and the Triplets) ahead to America a few months ago in order to make sure that everything was in place. Now, since Alois is over a year old and visibly stronger than he was before--as well as stronger than any human baby I've ever seen before--we've decided to make the final move and get on a ship to America. It's been one day so far and Alois has been pretty good. He's chasing the cat around our little boarding room. I'm just reading on the bed while watching Alois enjoy himself. He's getting so big now...his first birthday was only a few months ago...

~Flashback~

I wrap my arms around Sebastian tightly and watch Alois crawl across the rug of his nursery towards Pluto. Sebastian stiffens a bit when our friendly hell hound licks the baby's face, making him cringe for a moment. I wait for our son to start crying, but he doesn't show even the want to. Alois giggles instead, roughly patting Pluto on the nose.

"I can't believe we've had this little baby for a whole year," I whisper to Sebastian. "He's so big...look at him crawl."

"He's learning quite quickly," Sebastian replies. "I just wish he wasn't so warm towards certain people..."

We stand in silence and watch as Alois begins to cuddle with Pluplu. He's wearing a fancy suit that Viscount Druitt had given him for his first birthday. He was a little upset to know that I was with Sebastian now...but he (just like Grell) couldn't stop himself from finding Alois incredibly adorable.

"Da!" he calls to Sebastian. Alois sits up against Pluto and reaches up towards his father. "Da!"

Sebastian lets go of me and walks over to his son. He picks the boy up and gives him gentle raspberries on his pudgy little neck. Alois' giggles ring throughout the room quickly, flooding the place with innocent joy. "How's my little boy?" he asks his son quietly.

"I think he's happy," I say as I watch the two. "It is his birthday. Our little Alois is a year old now..."

"Don't be so sad, (y/n)," Sebastian commands. "Our son will have many birthdays! He'll be kind and gentle...just like his mother..."

"Just remember that his mother isn't a woman..." I grumble under my breath. "Have you seen my father lately?"

"He was rather excited to use his confectionary expertise in this moment in order to bake our little Alois a cake for his first birthday."

"So in other words...he's in the kitchen, baking for Alois."

"If you want to put it in common terms, yes."

I sigh loudly and peck Sebastian on the cheek before I give Alois a little kiss too. He giggles at the action and tries to grab for my hair. "Not today," I tell him as I place my finger in his grasp instead. Alois...he's so cute. His right eye has become the crimson of his father and his left is the lilac of his grandfather. His hair has grown as well, being mostly the shade of his father's, but many of his locks are the purest white just like my father's. The way his locks fall remind me of the old Alois. In all honesty...I see very little of myself in my baby. Hopefully, he'll have some of my characteristics in recompense. That's all I ask for. "You're such a ham."

"I think he acts a bit like you do," Sebastian tells me quietly.

"Did you just call me a ham?"

"Sit down, Soma," I say as I gently push him back down into his seat. "Neither of them is going anywhere."

Ciel is holding Alois right now, which is the most perfect picture in all of time to Soma. "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," he whispers softly. "Agni, I want you to paint me a portrait of the two so that I might treasure this moment forever!"
