charlotte's point of view
hey guys, i'm writing a new story called best friend
it's a zabdiel fanfic based on to all the boys i've loved before
go check the preview on my profile!"what am i supposed to do if you guys are getting all the action?" i pouted at christopher, liz, richard and zabdiel.
"we've been over this." christopher sighed dramatically. i giggled and slapped his shoulder. he winced, even though i know i couldn't have possibly hit him that hard. "you're going to be an angsty teenager, keep your parents distracted for as long as possible so zabdiel can sneak into their office."
i shook my head. "i still think if you want to find something, it'll be in her room."
"we don't have time to search her room."
i took a deep breath. "okay, fine. whatever." i turned to zabdiel. "are you sure you can do it?"
he shrugged and crossed his arms over his chest. "we'll see."
i had to hold my head so i wouldn't just fucking smash it against the table. this was a shitty plan and literally anyone could see that. well, anyone except these four assholes that surrounded me.
i took a deep breath. "i feel like half of the plan relies on us... winging it?" i half asked, half declared.
"just trust us, princess." richard smiled down at me. i couldn't help but smile back.
"of course. you are in disbelief, but the second richard smiles at you, you turn into a puddle? un-fucking-believable." christopher scoffed from the other side of the room, immediately followed by a soft thud.
i giggled as liz glared at christopher and he mumbled something under his breath. "whipped." i coughed. he turned to me with wide eyes.
"can we get back to the plan?" zabdiel groaned. "i can't believe i willingly agreed to be a fifth wheel."
after making sure everyone knew the part they had to play in our half assed plan, we made our way back to headquarters. my parents scared the fuck out of me, and if they found out we sneaked richard and zabdiel in, at least my mom wouldn't hesitate to kill me.
richard helped me get out of the car first. i made sure to slam the door when i walked in, well i tried to slam it but being on a wheelchair didn't really help. a couple of people turned to me, but i kept the frown on my face. christopher ran in after me and yelled at me to stop. i looked behind me to see liz successfully sneaking the guys in, since she knew the blindspots of the cameras.
i got into the elevator and christopher managed to get in before the doors closed. he smirked and held his fist up. i fistbumped him and let a soft giggle escape me. the easy part was done, now to distract my parents.
"charlotte." my mother was waiting for me outside the elevator. i glanced at christopher, then i sniffed and stood up, running into her arms as quickly as i could manage to. she looked genuinely taken aback, she didn't wrap her arms around me instantly.
"you were right about him, mom." i said the first thing that came to my mind to get on her good side. "he doesn't want anything to do with me, or the baby. he even insinuated that it wasn't his!"
she gasped and wrapped an arm around me, pulling me down the hallway. "see, lottie? he's his father's son. i knew he would hurt you sooner or later."
i was taken aback by her affections, but it seemed like she bought it. she must be happy that i agree with her on something and she could manipulate me like when i was younger.
"you don't hate me for... for sleeping with him?" i sniffed.
"of course not, lottie. if i hate anyone, it's him for doing this to you."
i almost laughed out loud and blew my cover. she definitely hated me back in the hospital. this was bullshit.
"we're gonna get revenge on them." she stated as she took me to her room. she helped me get in the bed, quickly wrapping the duvets around me.
"can you make that tea you used to give me when i got sick as i kid? honey lemon, was it?" i smiled at my mom.
i honestly didn't think she would buy it, but she grinned and nodded. "i'll be right back."
once she was out of the room i tried to stand up to look around, but i couldn't get past two steps when i fell on my knees. i sighed and glanced around, analyzing where would be the least expected place to hide something involving the father of my daughter and his wife who i killed. the closet, under the bed, in the underwear drawer, it was all too obvious.
my eyes glanced nervously to the door, except that it wasn't the door that leads to the hallway, it's the bathroom. of course, if she had to hide anything from my dad, what better place than with her tampons? i definitely would hide things there.
i crawled to the bathroom and got on my knees in front of the small cabinet. it was full of her makeup, almost too much for the small amount i always see on her face. i grabbed the two boxes of tampons that she had in there, one of them felt too heavy. i placed the other back in the cabinet and sat up.
the box only had a usb and a knife, most likely an ankle one. i took them and slid them in my pockets, not really knowing how to sneak the whole box out. i placed it on the back like she had it, then closed the doors and quickly crawled towards the bed, ignoring the burning feeling on my knees. i didn't know how much time i had left, but it couldn't be much longer until she came back.
"here's the tea, lottie."
i sat up with the bed sheets wrapped around my head. she handed me the cup and i welcomed its warmth. i didn't realize how cold the room had been.
"thanks, mom." i mumbled as i took a sip. there was a slight spice to it.
"i added some ginger." she smiled as she brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "just a bit, i know it's not your favorite but it's good to regain energy. we're going out tonight."
either we were really going out, or she was inviting me to her 'must kill all the camachos' mission except that i'm not supposed to know that was the point of the mission.
"we're getting revenge on that family."
