Tommy's POV

It was Taylor who eventually went to answer the door. Handing me Kyle he pondered down the hall slowly. I was trying to hide the grin on his face at the idea of a new kill. The last time I had killed someone was my nephew, something that only me and Julie knew about. Turing my head I saw Jules had continued to clean the dishes in the sink before switching to drying them.

"Hello?" Taylor answered the door.

"Hi were sorry to bother you but we had no where else to go!" A high preppy voice rang in my ears.

We? So there was going to be more than one kill. My morning just got more and more interesting as time went on.

"It's no bother, how can I help?" Taylor asked sweetly.

"We've been trekking for a few days you see and we had a place to camp but it was attacked this morning by wolves...everything was destroyed and we couldn't find the road. Is it ok if we come in for a little while to rest? Please...just for a few hours!" This time a more saddened tone answered. They both seemed to be female. I always found females more interesting to take the life from.

"Of course don't worry, take as long as you want I'm sure we can help. How many of you are there?" Taylor was moving things aside in the hall.

"Just the four of us. Are you sure that's ok?" The first person answered again in a happier tone than previous.

"It's fine honestly. Please come and meet my family." There was the sound of shuffling feet and the door closing before Taylor came back through.

"Jules come here." I said lightly just as she finished putting away the last dish. Walking over with her head high she sat next to me smiling. She took Kyle from me and I put my arm around her shoulder.

"Make yourself comfortable," Taylor ushered in the four people. Three girls and one guy. Who I assumed to be the happier girl sat across from me and smiled sweetly, the sadder one hung back in the doorway looking around nervously. Her dark hair covered one half of her face and when she moved the mask of hair shifted to reveal scratches and bruises.

The last female and male also hung back slightly near the door. The girl clinging onto the guys arm like a child with candy. She numbered something in his ear and he chuckled softly.

"Meet my family. This is my cousin Tommy and my son Kyle and his wife Julie. Family meet Candice, Kate, November and Ricky." Taylor introduced everyone.

I nodded in reply not really caring who they were or where they came from. All I cared about was how they were going to beg for their lives in a few minutes as I hold their life in my hands.

Candice seemed to be the girl sat in front of me and November and Ricky seemed to be the supposed couple near the door. Leaving Kate to be the girl with the scratched face.

"So how long have you guys been married?" Candice asked me sweetly accepting a drink from Julie.

"A few months." I grunted vaguely.

She giggled and twirled a piece of hair around her finger, smiling at me. I frowned. Nothing about what i said seemed to be funny.

"How come you don't have a ring?" She frowned back looking at my hand.

"We're farmers, it's tough around here making money so we have to save. Don't we babe." I turned to Julie who nodded and smiled.

Taylor has disappeared presumably to the basement to set up for what was awaiting our guests. Looking down I saw Kyle had gone to sleep. I leant over to Julie's ear and whispered in her ear.

"Go put Kyle down to bed and come straight back down. Ok?" I whispered softly and grinned.

Jules nodded and kissed me quickly before heading off steadily with Kyle. Kate shifted in the doorway again, not speaking a word since she entered our home. Her gazed wandered around the petite kitchen glancing nervously at me from time to time.

"Are you ok Kate? Why don't you come sit down?" Candice turned to her sipping on her drink."

She only shook her head in reply causing Candice to turn back to me.

"Kate is the one who got the worst of it this morning. A wolf got hold of her ankle and dragged her a couple of meters before we could stop it. She's not spoken very much since." November spoke from inside Ricky's arms.

Her voice was so soft it was almost inaudible. Her arms wrapped tightly around Ricky's torso as her caressed her hair.

"It's ok. We don't speak very much around here anyway. Not used to so much company." I forced a smile and small laugh to lighten the mood a little better.

My heart jumped excitedly as I heard Taylor's footsteps echo back up the stairs. Swiftly he made his way through the kitchen and grabbed a spanner out of a bottom draw before heading back down the stairs.

"So what about the farming business then? Do you get any injuries often?" Candice continued to smile a sickly sweet smile and twirling a piece of hair around her finger.

"Yeah sometimes. I injured my wrist the other day so I haven't been able to do that much around you see." I indicated to my weaker hand.

"What a big sting guy like you!" Candice leaned forward as I leaned back.

"Candice leave him alone he's married!" Kate snapped out of no where, startling Julie who had just entered the kitchen.

Frowning the girl sat back and Julie sat next to me holding my hand almost protectively. I smirked and looked my girl up and down. I liked this protective side of her. Made things more...interesting.

Taylor came back up the wooden stairs and entered the kitchen.

"Tom would you be able to give me a hand with these boxes down here? If we can get them moved today we should be able to reach the old equipment so we can finish the crops tomorrow." Taylor asked.

"I could help. Tommy's just been telling us about his hand, but I'm sure I can do it mate." Ricky spoke up.

"Thanks, it means a lot." I smiled and settled down in my seat.

Without a second thought Ricky and November were making their way down the stairs to the basement with Taylor following short behind them. Julie was chatting casually to Candice about where they all where heading. Somewhere up North I think, I wasn't listening.

Not until the first scream came.

It sounded like November. High and choked. Then another much louder.

Panicking Candice ran towards he basement and down the stairs with Kate hobbling behind. Standing I took Julie's hand and pulled her to her feet and into the basement. Standing at he top of the stairs I closed the door and locked it putting the key in my pocket. Her face read fear as she glanced down the stairs towards the dimly lit room.

Another scream came.

"Show time..." I whispered in Julie's ear before leading her down the stairs.
