"Dude, thats the second murder!" Stiles said as he unloaded his books into his locker. Scott rubbed his temples, trying to relieve the pounding headache. The stress was getting to him.
"I don't know Stiles. Maybe it's just normal everyday homicide" Scott offered in response, Stiles rolling his eyes. He slammed his locker shut, slinging his backpack over his shoulder as he turned to Scott.
"There is nothing normal in Beacon Hills Scott" Stiles pointed out, pausing for a moment. "Lets just say that twice is a coincidence and three times is a pattern. So if it happens again, we should get involved" Stiles made an offer but Scott didn't respond. Instead, Scott looked off distracted. He sniffed the air, looking around. Stiles picked up on Scott's movements and looked around the hallway himself. "Dude what? What do you smell?" Stiles asked, studying his best friend.
"Anxiety" Scott reported hesitantly, unsure of himself. Scott turned to look at the entrance of the school, looking for the source of the scent. Stiles turned to look as well, the doors opening as a girl walked through. Lydia Martin walked in, her strawberry hair bouncing as she strutted down the halls. Stiles watched her strut down the hallway, sighing sadly.
"Well its obviously not coming from her, the most confident girl in school" Stiles muttered. After Lydia was bitten by an alpha at the winter formal and didn't shift into a werewolf, the pack was hesitant towards her. They just assumed she was immune to the bite or something. Scott and Stiles watched as Lydia passed them and offered a friendly smile. "Well I guess its better than being ignored" Stiles said to Scott earning a short laugh from him.
Scot looked towards the door again, his eyes widening. "Found were the scent was coming from" Scott used his head to gesture towards the door, Stiles turning to follow Scott's stare.
A girl stumbled through the door, almost tripping. She was tall, had blonde hair which was done up in a messy bun and looked to be about their age. She held a tall stack of books that looked like they weighed more than she did. She used one arm to carry them and the other to read the piece of paper which she held on top of the book. She looked around confused and back at the paper, her lips pursed and eye brows furrowed.
"New girl" Scott guessed, nodding in approval. Stiles nodded to, tilting his head slightly as he stared at her.
"She's pretty" Stiles said, studying her. "Don't you think?" he asked Scott. Scott squirmed uncomfortably, eyes shifting to the wall.
"Right, you only have eyes for Allison. Can't complement another girl" Stiles said in an annoyed tone, fed up with his lovestruck friend. He looked at his best friend who was now following after Allison, the tall brunette he was in love with. Stiles rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. Stiles turned to walk to chemistry when he slammed into something hard. He heard a loud clatter and a gasp.
"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" he heard a small voice ask. It was the new girl who he had just walked into. Her books lay scattered on the floor, the paper crumpled under one of them. After a short second he realized he was starring, immediately snapping out of it.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry I ran into you" he replied as they both squatted down to pick up the books. She smiled at him as she gathered up her things, Stiles handing her books.
"My fault. I'm a little frazzled" she picked up the last book and stood up, making sure they were secure in her arms. "Thanks" she grinned, a friendly aura around her.
"No problem. Stiles. Stiles Stilinski" he said as he stuck out his hand.
"Emma. Emma Ray" she replied, looking down at her hands which were full and back at his. She used her chin to hold down the paper on the top book and shook his hand. Stiles laughed, amused by her actions.
"Want me to show you to your class?" Stiles asked hoping to take some of the nervousness away. Her grin widened, dimples appearing.
"Yes please" she sighed in a grateful tone. He took the schedule from her, reading over it quickly.
"Alright lets see" he drummed his fingers on the back of the paper. "Well for starters I can show you where your locker is so you can drop of some books" Stiles offered, Emma nodding furiously as her arms were already growing tired.
Stiles walked her further down the hallway, stopping next to a wall of lockers. "Right here" Stiles said patting a locker. "Just two down from mine" he took the books from her as she put in her combination, pulling the locker open. She shoved the books in her locker, slamming it and sighing in relief.
"I'm glad I'll know one friendly face around here" she said referring to the lack friendliness in the school. Stiles laughed at her remark, liking her sense of humor.
"I think we are going to get along great" he laughed as he reviewed her schedule again. "Ahh chemistry with Mr. Harris and me" he smirked, emphasizing his least favorite teacher's name.
"Mr. Harris, is he good?" Emma asked with a hopeful face, Stiles almost feeling bad he had to break the news to her.
Stiles laughed and shook his head. "The worst of the worst actually" he informed her, Emma groaning in response as she shoved her schedule in her bag.
"At least you'll be in my class" she pointed out, Stiles blushing slightly as he smiled and nodded.
"Yeah and I can also introduce you to some of my friends. But let me warn you, don't feel bad if you feel like they are distracted or anything. They-We are pretty busy" Stiles stumbled awkwardly, Emma's head tilting in confusion. He liked this girl and he didn't want her to feel bad when the pack couldn't include her in missions or secrets.
"Okay" she replied hesitantly, chalking it up to Stiles' personality being jittery and sometimes not making sense. "So, shall we?" she asked, Stiles nodding as he released a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding.
"Yeah, lets get a move on. We don't want to be late and get a detention" he teased, Emma laughing as they headed off to Chemistry.
