they called him ugly
and then they wondered
why he always wore a hoodie.
they called him annoying
and then they wondered
why he always stayed quiet.
they called him fat
and then they wondered
why he stopped eating.
they called him clueless
and then they wondered
why he never had a clue.
they called him stupid
and then they wondered
why he never answered the questions.
they called him worthless
and then they wondered
why he had a low self esteem.
they called him delusional
and then they wondered
why he was never ambitious.
they told him to shut up
and then they wondered
why he never talked.
they told him to kill himself
and then they wondered
why he didn't do it.
years passed
i stood there and watched
when i finally said something
everyone stopped
but it was too late.
they ruined him.

if you ever see someone being pushed down, don't stand and watch. give them a hand, pull them back up and stand by their side.
you never know when they'll give up from getting up on their own.
