College Dreaming
Chapter 52*Chris's POV*
"Trey, stop fucking cheating!"
"Man aint nobody cheating! You're mad cause you're losing!"
"I wouldn't be losing if you didnt give me this dead ass controller!"
"Man, my shit ain't dead."
After the formal, I decided to take Trey up on his offer to spend some time together. He was right. Since we graduated from high school, we never really had one one one time like we used to have. Tonight we ordered some pizza and wings, watched a few movies, and now we're playing Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Of course Trey would get this version because he is a huge superhero fan. Fuckin nerd. I'm a little bitter right now because Trey has been kicking my ass since we started playing this game.
FLASH WINS!!!
"Cheater."
"Chris, just accept the fact you may have met your match. I dont suck at this game like Kamaal does."
"Well if I didn't have such a bad controller, I would be fucking your ass up."
"Man I told you my shit ain't dead.
We continue playing the game. I give the fight of my life, but come up short. Trey takes the last bit of strength I had when he knocked me off the building and kept throwing punches in my direction.
FLASH WINS!!!
"Ugh...Trey, switch controllers with me."
"If I switch with you, will that shut you up?"
"I'm not making any promises."
Trey laughs at me and gives me his controller. We go to the main memu and choose different characters. I choose Sub Zero once again, and Trey chose Raiden. Now that I got Trey's controller, I know im gonna come on top. I kicked Trey's ass in the first round. When it came to the second round, Trey ended up beating me.
RAIDEN WINS!!!
"Ha!!!! I told you ain't nothing wrong with my shit!"
"Whatever you just got lucky."
'If you say so Christopher. Start another round."
The game switches to the character screen, Trey and I scroll through the menu looking for a charachter to choose.
"So what's being ina fraternity like?"
"It's cool and worth getting into. You should think about pledging next year. We're more than just a bunch of guys who host campus parties and step. We do a lot of community service, and it's a chance to open doors for you."
"I don't know. It may not be right for me." I say
"That's what I used to think, but it's been my dream since we saw those frats at that one step show in 9th grade."
"Awwww that's cute. But I don't think I'll pledge."
"You're only saying that because you're afraid of the hazing. But they do that to build your character and bring you closer to your line brothers."
"I don't know. I'll think about it, but I probably won't do it."
"I swear it's so hard to get through that thick ass skull of yours sometimes."
Trey and I play another round with the same characters we had before. Trey is starting to lose, so he swipes his hand across my controller to throw me off.
"Stop cheating."
"So Chris, what's being in love like?"
I pause the game and stare at Trey for a minute. His question really caught me off guard.
"Huh?"
"Man you heard me. What's being in love like?"
"What made you ask me that?"
"I don't know. I see you with Kamaal, and you look happy."
"That's because I am happy."
"So how did you know that Kamaal is the one?"
"I knew Kamaal was the one when I first laid eyes on him. When I finally got him, I just felt like the luckiest guy in the world. Kamaal is everything I want in a guy, it's like he's almost too good to be true. He's sweet, sensitive, spontaneous, driven, and intelligent. Even though it seems like all we do is fuck, our relationship is more than that. Kamaal gets into my mind, and he opened me up to new ideas. We've developed such a.strong connection, that it's scary sometimes. I may be too young to know what love is exactly, but I know how I feel about my biscuit head. That's how I know he's the one for me."
"That's deep."
"Yep. So what really made you ask me that? You tryin to settle down Tremaine?"
"Me? Hell nah!!! You know that love shit ain't for me. I was just wondering why Kamaal turned my little homie soft."
"Shutup Trey. Ain't nobody turn soft."
"Shit I beg to differ....but biscuit head though?"
"Yep, biscuit head."
"Why?"
"Kamaal was bugging me about not having a nickname for him, so I called him the first thing that popped in my head."
"Which just so happened to be biscuut head? What the hell were you thinking when you decided on that name?"
"Shit I was hungry."
"Chris I'm done with you. You need to change that immediately."
"Nope, Kamaal isn't complaining so I'm keeping it."
"So what does Anita got planned for the holidays?"
"Uhhh I don't know. Kamaal actually wants me to fly with him to New York to meet his family."
"Oh really? Are you gonna go?"
"I don't know. I never gave him a definite answer."
"What's stopping you?:
"Nothing, I just-"
"Loooord here you go again."
I pause the game and stare at Trey for a minute.
"What's that supposed to mean?:
"For some reason, you always shut down the thought of a new idea if you're not feeling it. This dude wants you to meet his whole family, and you don't wanna go?"
:It's not that I don't wanna go with him it's just a big step, and I'm nervous about it."
"Maaaaan get out your feelings. Of course it's a big step. That's how y'all become closer. Look, I think you should go. You're just worried that they won't like you."
"You're right"
"I know I am. Go to New York with your man. His family will like you. Hell, Myra and I still fuck with you, so I don't see why they wouldn't. Now stop distracting me with this sensitive shit so I can continue putting this ass kicking on you."
"In your dreams!"
Trey and I continue going back and forth arguing and playing Mortal Kombat for the rest of the night.
