College Dreaming
Chapter 29ONE MONTH LATER
*Kamaal's POV*
"Alright class, there's your homework assignment for tonight. Remember to submit the chapter exam on blackboard by midnight. Class dismissed."
Damn, when they said college ain't no joke they wasn't playin. Now that we're all settled in our classes and shit, the work keeps piling up. I pack up my stuff and head out the classroom. As I head to the door, Jeremy stops me.
"Wassup Kamaal?"
"Ain't shit bruh."
"Cool. Look what you doin tonight? You tryin to chill tonight?"
"Nah man I-"
"Damn man, why is it that everytime I try to chill with you, you always blow me off?"
"It's not that its just-"
"Damn that lil nigga must got you on lock. He don't let you go out and have a good time? I bet he one of those fag ass-"
As soon as I heard him say fag, I throw my shit down and jack him up against the wall.
"Look nigga, don't you ever disrespect my dude like that."
"Damn man, chill out. I was just fuckin with you."
"Well choose your words wisely. Say some slick shit like that again, I'ma fuck you up. Respect my relationship."
I let him off the wall and walk away. How dare that nigga disrespect my lil buddy like that. I pick my shit up off the floor and walk out the building. I put my headphones in and walk to the student lounge to start on this math homework.
*Chris's POV*
This past month has been crazy. Its been full of nothing but school work. I've already completed two projects and I just finished an 8 page English paper. Story of my life. Kamaal and I haven't gotten to see much of each other, but he comes in and spends the night in my dorm occasionally. Andre still flirts with me, Myra comes by every now and then, but I haven't seen Trey that much. He's been the definition of missing in action. I walk over to Myra's dorm and she opens the door as soon as I knock on it.
"Bestie!!!"
"Wassup chick?"
I look down and see Myra's room is a mess.
"Girl what is going on with this catastrophe on the floor?"
"Chile, I'm in here trying to finish up a project for psychology. I'm not even halfway done yet."
"I forgot you and Kamaal have the same psychology teacher. Shit judging by this mess, I would've thought you were finished."
"Have you talked to Trey lately?" Myra asks
"I was about to ask you the same thing. I tried calling and texting him, but he either short answers me or doesn't respond."
"I'm pretty sure he's just busy like the rest of us are. I mean, this is the first time I've seen you in a week."
As soon as I say that there's a knock on the door. Myra opens it and Trey steps inside.
"Wassup y'all?"
'Nothing much stranger. How you been? We were just talking about you."
"Shit, just busy as hell. This college shit ain't no joke." Trey says as he laughs
"Ain't that the truth."
Trey walks in and sits down on Myra's bed. As he sits down, he rises back up quickly, and sits back down slowly. We look at him and he looks back up at us.
"What are y'all lookin at?"
"That was weird the way you sat down."
"Oh ummm...I've been working out and I'm a little sore."
"I guess."
We continue laughing and talking for a few minutes before Trey's phone starts to ring.
"Oh shit. I guess I'll get at y'all later. I gotta be up outta here."
"But you just got here."
Trey: I know, but I got some shit to take care of. Assignments, projects, homework....I'll see y'all later."
Trey hugs both of us and walks out the room. Myra closes the door behind him.
"OK, what the hell was that all about?" Myra asks
"I have no clue."
"Something is up with that boy....I don't know what it is, but I'm gonna find out."
"Myra, don't start your inspector gadget shit. It's too early in the semester for this." I say as I roll my eyes
I help Myra complete the rest of her project. She's right though. Something isn't right with Trey. I brush the feeling off and turn my attention back to Myra's project. I hope he's ok.
*Trey's POV*
I pick up my phone and answer the call that's coming through on my phone.
"Hello?"
"Gather everyone and meet me at the spot in an hour.
