College Dreaming
Chapter 32*Kamaal's POV*
After hanging up the phone with Chris I decide to stop at his dorm and holla at him right quick. I call him twice but I get no answer.
"What the fuck is he doin?"
I call one more time and it goes straight to voicemail. I'm beyond pissed at this point. Chris and I barely argue, so this is severe in our case. I make my way to his building, and climb up the stairs to his room. I knock on the door, but there's no answer. I wait and knock again. The more I wait and knock, the thinner my patience gets.
"Open the door Chris! I know you're in there!"
I knock one more time and he still doesn't answer. I sigh out loud and run my hands through my dreads.
"Look baby, I'm sorry for the way I came at you. Open the door and lets talk about this."
I step back from the door, and wait for a response. After standin in silence for 2 minutes, I knock on the door again.
"Damn bae, come on now. Talk to me. Open the door."
After waiting again, I give up.
"I guess your mind still ain't right. Holla at me when you're ready to stop hiding behind your emotions and talk to me like real man. You ain't never shut up before, so I don't know why you're so silent this time."
*Chris's POV*
After hearing Kamaal knock on the door numerous times, I continue to ignore him. I'm kinda pissed off at him.
"Look baby, I'm sorry for the way I came at you. Open the door and lets talk about this."
I look up toward the door while wiping the tears that are starting to develop from my eyes. I get up and stand by the door with my ear pressed up against it.
"Damn bae, come on now. Talk to me. Open the door."
The more I hear Kamaal beg for me to open the door, the more the tears start to fall from my face. I hate that I'm putting him through this.
"I guess your mind still ain't right. Holla at me when you're ready to stop hiding behind your emotions and talk to me like real man. You ain't never shut up before, so I don't know why you're so silent this time."
I slide down the door as I listen to him. Before I know it, my face is buried in my hands sitting on the floor crying my eyes out. I hear a thud at the door and silence after that.
*Kamaal's POV*
After waitin for a response, I literally wanna give up. I knock again and I continue to wait for Chris to answer the door. I know my lil buddy. He's gonna come around and open the door and run in my arms. After realizin that wasn't gonna happen, I kick the door and walk away. Chris is grown and he can make his own decisions. I can't force him to do anything he doesn't wanna do. I walk out the building and sit on the stairs for a good minute, before I realized I wasn't alone. I feel a tap on my shoulder and see Andre looking right at me.
"Hey Kamaal."
I look up at him with anger all over my face. Even though I don't like this nigga, the least I can do is say wassup.
"Wassup man."
"Just getting back from class. Are you ok? You look a little down."
Red flag. Never tell a person you don't like that you're havin problems in your relationship. Does this nigga think I'm bout to talk to him about our issues so he can use it as bait to try to take my baby away from me? Hell to the no.
