My best friend. Chapter 5

I had gotten my blanket out of my bag and layed down in the bed of the truck and watched the stars. 10k started playing with my hair, so I decided to lay on his leg.

I thought maybe he was cold so I grabbed the other blanket I had, well it was more of a throw than a blanket an put it over his legs. I pulled part of my blanket up and balled it up so I could use it as a pillow. I heard 10k laugh slightly, I looked at him and he smiled. He had one of the most beautiful smiles left on plant earth.

I felt something for him. I think he was starting to figure this out. I figured if it was meant to be, it would be. I kinda just wanted to see where things would go.

I couldn't sleep, but 10k had fallen asleep and I could him silently snoring. It was cute. I had layed like this for the rest of the night. The sun rising. The sun rise was so pretty. I sat up and against the window. I had woke 10k up when I sat up. I have learned that he's a really light sleeper, so I try not to move if im sleeping on him and he's asleep. I looked at him and smiled " good morning sleepy head" he sleeply smiled back "good morning" . I slid my hand over and locked hands with him. I felt it was the only was to make things serious, without taking it too far.

We could die tomorrow but for today I was enjoying every minute I had with him.

After about an hour of the sun being risen the truck stopped and doc and addy jumped out. Addy grabbed a gas can out the back of the truck and refilled the truck. As she was doing that she said " Luna, 10k you can ride in the cab (or the front of the truck) if you want". I shook my head and at the same time 10k and I said " nah I'm okay". She laughed " now your speaking together, that's so cute". Addy finshed filling up the gas tank and got in the truck. Doc walked around the truck and told 10k on his way around "glad your happy kid, it's something that I haven't seen on you in a long time". I was happy that I made him happy.

I let go of his hand grabbed one of my bags and unzipped it, it was the bag that I had put the stuff I had found at the gas station in. I reached in and grabbed a pack of gum, a bag of chips, a couple of bars of candy, and two sodas. They were expired but I didn't care. I knocked on the glass, Murphy looked back, I held up a couple of the candy bars. He said something to doc and he slowed down. Murphy reached out the window and I gave him a few candy bars, the bag of chips, and the gum. He smiled and his teeth made me cringe.

Doc started speeding up again. I reached back in my bag, grabbed another bag chips, two chocolate bars, and another pack of gum. I open the bag of chips, I took a couple out and handed the bag to 10k. He took the bag and it looked like he was shoveling them into his mouth. I laughed and handed him his soda, and fixed my blanket. He opened the soda and drunk it in like one sip. I handed him mine and he said " no you drink it" I looked at him and said "no, it's okay take it. I'd rather have water". He grabbed my bag and pulled the water bottle out, opened it, and drunk out of it. "Well now you have to drink it" he said grinning. I opened the soda and drunk a sip and ate my candy.

Once we finished eating, I took two pieces of the fun out the pack and gave one to 10k and kept the other. He shoved it into his mouth. It was cute, I laughed. He looked at me with those eyes, the ones where you just can't look away even if you wanted to.

We sat there just looking into each others eyes for a long time. I felt like I could see his pain, his hurt, his love, his fear, his everything. He finally looked away, he looked sad. I rapped my arms around him and layed my head on him. He was like the best friend I never had. But we had more. It was more than just a friendship. I didn't know what it was, but I did know that we were more than friends.

I felt him move his arm. He put his arm around me, and pulled my blanket up. I figured he felt me shivering. Once he did that I felt him rap his arm around my side. I sat there with my arms raped around him and just listened to his heart beat. It was so peaceful. But I couldn't get off my that I didn't know what we we're. I didn't know if he was just being nice. If we were friends with benefits. If we were a thing.

I started starring into space, just thinking. I felt him slide himself up. I moved with him. By this point we were under the same blanket and I was almost In a ball. I look up at him, he looked back at me. " What are we?" I asked him.
