What are we? Chapter 4

I had let Addy sleep for a while since we were leaving at first light. I had taken her place in watching. But when I got outside I had seen 10k was already out there.

I looked at him, "um...shouldn't you be sleeping?" He asked. "No, Addy asked if she could sleep for a while" I told him. He gave me a look and then smiled shaking his head. He walked over and sat down with me. I just watched him.

I put my hand down on the seat of the swing. I used my feet and started swinging. Then I heard a Z and I felt 10k grab something, I watched him as he used his sling shot to kill a Z. "Good shot" I said while smiling. "Thanks" he said as he put his sling shot away.

He had got up a few times and went to check the back of the house, each time he would come and sit back down beside. I had got up and walked into the house to use the bathroom. When I finished I had seen the room light was on. I peeked in and Addy was sitting on the edge of the bed just looking into space. I closed the door and walked back outside, then I heard someone yell "Luna...help me" I ran to the back of the house and seen was surrounded by like 6 Z's I grabbed the knife out of it's holder and stabbed a Z in the back of the head, I looked and two Z's were coming at me I grabbed the other knife that I had that was slightly big and killed the closest one, then I ran up to the next one and killed it. 10k had taken care of the two but that time and was watching me.

I pushed the hair that had come out of the rubber band behind my ear and said " your welcome". I knocked 10k out of his thoughts and he said "thanks". I started walking back around to the porch and heard 10k running up behind me, I smiled.

We got back to the porch and sat down "so what's your real name, there's no way that your name is 10k"I asked. He smiled at the ground "it's Tommy". "Then why 10k" I asked, "its how many Z's I plan to kill" he said looking me in the eyes.

I walked around the house a few times killing maybe 3 Z's I got back to the porch and seen that the sun was coming up. 10k walked into the house and a few minutes later walked back out with his things, I walked in and me things weren't where I had left them. I walked back outside and asked 10k " hey...uh... Have you seen my bags?", "Yeah...I have them" he said. I ran up next him and grabbed my things. I looked and everyone came rushing out the door.

Warren and addy took the front of the line, doc and Murphy after them it was me and 10k in the back. I don't mind being in the back. 10k would bump into me being playful from time to time.

After about an hour or two of walking we came up to a small gas station. There was a few cars, doc and 10k shared to see if any of them could be driven while me, warren, Addy, and Murphy went in to see if there was anything we could use, I looked at Addy as she was stuffing something into her book bag. I grabbed a few chocolate bars, some gum,chips, a few sodas, water, and whatever meds I could find. When I walked back outside everyone was outside.

I had seen Addy pull 10k to the side and she was talking to him, then handed him a small box. I couldn't make out what it was, I figured it was just some food or something he liked. Knocking me out of my thoughts I felt something touch my shoulder and then everyone grabbed there gun. It felt like everything was going in slow motion. I feel to the ground and grabbed the gun off my side as everyone pulled there triggers and the dead Z body fell on top of me. It felt like it weighted a million pounds.

All of a sudden I felt the weight being lifted, I quickly crawed out from under it, I looked back and seen 10k and Addy had lifted it off me " Thank you" I said.

Doc had found a car that would get us up the road a little ways. The vehicle was a 4 door black pick-up truck. Doc, Warren, Addy, and Murphy all made it into the truck before I could ask where to sit. I took it I would be sitting in the back with 10k, I sat on one side of truck near the glass and 10k took the other side. I looked at him and smiled. They started the car and took off.

I few hours had passed and I was wide open. Me and 10k had locked eyes a few times. I put my hand on the floor of the truck bed and looked out into the distance, then I felt something touch my hand.
