"I love you" Chapter 5

I cuddled up to 10k. I sat my head down on his shoulder and he say his head on top of mine. We sat like this for a while. Mostly because it was warm. He whispered "I love you Luna".

I sat there for a minute in shock. I just figured out what we were this morning, and he's telling me he loves me now. I didn't know how to act towards this. I said " I love you too Tommy".

I felt him move his arm. Then he grabbed my hand and held it. He was extremely warm, which was an extreme change for him. I lifted my head and looked at him then put it back down again. I ended up falling asleep.

10k's POV

Luna had such talent when it came to killing Z's. She would never go to them, she lets them come to her. It was a real strategy. She could tell how fast they were.

I realized this when I seen her fighting them at the hospital. She was so good at it. She's saved us a few times, we've saved her.

When she seen the chained up Z's I knew something wasn't right. I had to keep her safe. We stopped when we go to the road block. I made sure I stayed as close to her as possible. Then there was this man who came up to her and said "aren't you a pretty one". I thought it was funny when she pulled out her knife and put it to his neck and said " yeah, but I'm dangerous to". When Warren gave the sign to fire. I was going shot him first but it looked like she was handling him. Then I seen she had a bullet cut the side of her face. I turned and shot all the ones that weren't dead already. I turned to see Luna had let the Z take care of him. I shot them both. Then helped unblock the road.

When we got the road clear, Luna ran up to me and hugged me. I didn't know how to react at first. Then I hugged her back. We got back in the truck, Luna layed down in the bed of the truck rapped up from head to toe, and watched the stars. I started messing with her hair. So she slid over and layed down on my leg.

She sat up and pulled out another blanket and gave it to me I rapped up and she layed back down on my leg. I ended up falling asleep.

I woke up because Luna sat up. She looked like she hadn't slept all night, but she was still gorgeous. She smiled at me and said "good morning sleepy head" I smiled back and said good morning.

After maybe an hour, the truck stopped and addy and doc got out. Addy grabbed a gas can and refilled the truck she said "Luna, 10k you can go sit in the cab (or the front of the part of the truck) it you want to". We spoke at the same time " nah, I'm okay". Doc spoke and said "I'm glad to she you happy kid, I haven't seen that in a long time". I think it made Luna happy to hear that. She would look at me every once and a while.

They got back in the truck and Luna grabbed one of her bags. She started pulling out food. I was happy. I was starving.ahe gave food to Murphy so that everyone on the inside of the truck could eat. Then she went back in the bag and pulled out some stuff for us to eat. She took the bag of chips, opened them and took a few, then handed me the bag. I started shoveling them into my mouth. Then she handed me a soda and I drunk it all within a minute, she tried to hand me her and I told her " no you keep it" then she told me " I have a bottle if water". I grabbed the bottle of water and drunk out of it. " Now you have to drink it". We finished eating and we just sat there looking into each other's eyes. I felt like I was seeing her lost, her pain, her happy, everything.

She rapped her amrs around me and layed her head on my shoulder. I put my arm around her. I started to fall, so I sat up and she followed. She looked at me and asked "what are we?". I just looked at her. I told her " were whatever you want us to be". We talked for a while and we were an official thing. I liked that.

We stopped at some type of market I killed off the Z's and Luna stood behind me. She seen Addy was having a hard time with one of the Z's. She ran over and helped her.

When we got in, she walked around and shoved her bags full of food. She yelled "10k, doc do you think you could give me a hand". I stopped everything I want doing and ran to where her voice was coming from. When I got there I seen she was fine. I felt so relieved. She asked "do you think you could take this water to the truck?". We took the water to the truck. Went I went in to get the last one, I seen her wondering around. I left her alone.

I walked out with the last one and started filling the truck up for the night trip. I seen her come out, she had found coats for everyone. She hugged me and it took me a few seconds then I hugged her back. She handed me this black coat that was around her waist. I put it on and said "thanks" she looked at me and said "your welcome". We go back into the truck and started down the road again.

We sat like this for a while and it took a long time but I finally worked up the nerve to tell her. I was gonna do it. It was now or never right. I whispered to her "I love you Luna". She sat there for a minute and I was starting to get worried. Then I finally heard her say " I love you too Tommy". I thought it was cute she was say my real name.

I grabbed her hand and held it. She looked at me then put her head back on my shoulder. She ended up falling asleep. I could her snoring every so often and I'd smile. She was too cute even for me sometimes.
