Running out. Chapter 6

I was sitting in the back of the truck with my head laying on his shoulder. I ended up falling asleep.

I woke up and heard 10k sightly snoring. I stay almost perfectly still, so I wouldn't wake him. I stayed like this for a while then I heard him stop snoring. "Hi" I said. He didn't say anything back. I lifted my head and seen he was lifeless. Then I realized that the truck wasn't moving. I quickly turned and seen all of them looking at me. I looked back at 10k and he had turned into a Z. I started sliding to the back of the truck. I grabbed the knife that he gave me. I heard a faint "luna, luna". I started looking around and he grabbed my foot and I tried kicking him but it didn't work. I heard it again "luna, luna". In that moment 10k bit into my leg, I screamed.

I woke up and it was just a dream. I looked at 10k trying to get my breath. My heart was racing. He looked at me with a worried. I rapped my arms around him. I felt a few tears leave my eyes. 10k lifted my head and said " it's okay, what happened, you can tell me". I looked at him I felt more tears stream down my face. I told him " I was dreaming..." He shook him head. I continued "you turned....you bit me... And there was nothing I could do....but I kept hearing someone calling my name..." He pulled me closer and said "Luna you don't have to worry about that, it will never happen... I promise"

I my face into his chest. He sat there rubbing my back. I felt my eyes puffing up. I lifted my head and looked at 10k he said " are you okay?"and wiped a tear from my face. I smiled at him and said " I will be, it's happens... It's not the first time".

After a few minutes the truck stopped and everyone go out. Warren said "we're out of gas". They must have switched drivers while I was asleep. We must have used the last little bit we had in the cans. I sat up and packed my blankets, and packed a bag full of water and jumped out of the truck. 10k shot a Z that was coming for me. I grabbed all my bags handed the water bagto 10k and started walking. I went to reach for my knife and realized I had left I'm the truck. I ran back and grabbed it.

10k had came with me. We walked to get back with the group. We came to the point where we were only a few steps behind them. I had my head down at my side and I was looking into space, the dream kept replaying in my mind. I felt something grab my hand. It knocked me out of my thoughts. I looked and seen 10k had grabbed my hand. I locked my fingers between his.

We walked for a few hours, we stopped and I took off my bags. It felt like I was starting to digest my insides. I reached into my bag and pulled out 6 breakfast bars, a few bags of chips and a pack of gum. I walked to everyone handed them some chips, a peice of gum and some chips. I finally finished and sat down so I could eat and of course a fracking Z had to come out. I sat my stuff aside and grabbed the knife 10k gave me, and killed it. I wiped the knife off on my pants and went sat back down and ate. I ate then gave it a minute and put the gum in my mouth.

After a few more minutes, I grabbed my stuff and we started walking again. We walked for a few more hours and came up on this house. I'm my head I was think *yes, finally a lucky break, thank you*

Warren and Addy went in to check the house. Warren stuck her head out and said "all clear". We all walked in and Murphy ploped down on the couch. I walked up to Warren she said that 10k and I would share a room since we've gotten so close. I didn't mind, he would probably stay outside most of the time anyway. She walked us to the room we were going to stay I'm and I dropped my bags down in the corner and flopped down on the bed. 10k looked at me, laughed and shook his head. Addy opened thinking it was her room and said "oops, sorry hope I wasn't interrupting anything" she winked and shut the door. I sat up and looked at 10k and his face was a bright red color. I stood up and walked past him and out of the room I shut the door behind me. I walked around the house untill I found the kitchen. I walked in and searched each and every cabinet. I found a few cans of soup, some dog food, two bags of chips, some cookies, and a few bottles of water. I took everything and layed it on one of the counters. I heard someone coming. I reached for my knife and looked, it was doc. He walked in and said "cool you found some dog food...and it my favorite kind" I kinda rised my eye brow and laughed.

I left everything sitting on counter and walked out. I walked to the bathroom. Out of curiosity I turned the sink nob. I closed my eyes. Then I heard the water start pouring. I opened my eyes and seen it was clean water. I ran to the shower there was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I ran into the hallway and yelled "we have water..." Addy came running around the corner " I'm first" I laughed and said " be my guest... But I'm next" I walked down the hall and into the room. 10k was still in there but he was laying in the bed. I grinned and started walking out of the door "don't you wanna stay" I heard him ask. I walked back in, shut the door and sat down on the edge of the bed. He sat up and looked at me. I looked back at him.
