ANABELLE WANTED TO gag. She thought she could handle being in the same house as her mother, but she really couldn't. Especially that her mother is now dying in the same house. Did she hate herself? She finally sees her mother after many, many years, to only know she has terminal cancer.

Anabelle doesn't notice she has been scrubbing the same plate for the past two minutes. She looks down at it and washes it clean with the hot water. Her relationship with her mother isn't like this plate; their relationship can't be cleansed easily. It's most like a fat stain on fabric, hard to remove, hard to fix.

She wipes the tears off her face with the sleeves of her white shirt. Scarlette had been sitting with her mother for the past one hour. She thought of going and sitting with them, with the twins that are so alike yet so different. But she would rather wash the dishes.

As soon as she sits on the table, Scarlette startles her by placing her hand on her tense shoulders.

"Hey baby" Scarlette smiles down sympethatically at Anabelle. She didn't want sympathy, she just wanted her mother to be alright, and to get the hell out of this house.

"Hey"

"Why don't you go over and sit with your mother?"

Because she's not my mother, "I'll go later"

"Hey..." Scarlette moves Anabelle's hair off her forehead, "I know this is hard, but she needs you now"

"Yeah I know, but where was she when I needed her?"

"You need to let it go, it's been years"

"Years without a mother or a father" Anabelle chuckles without humour, "Why am I here?"

"You're here because you won't stoop down to her level Anabelle" Scarlette caressed her niece's cheeks delicately, "She regrets leaving you baby, but you have to talk to her, be there for her"

She nodded in response. She just wanted to shut Scarlette up with her nod, but she knew her aunt won't be going away unless and until Anabelle was in the same room as her sick mother.

"Fine, fine" she threw her hands in the air in surrender and walked up the stairs, heading to her mother's room.

She should be handled a medal really. This needed courage, patience, and love. But did she love her mother that much? She's here because she's suddenly feeling guilty. Although, what is it she's guilty for? Her mother is the one who left her, all Anabelle did was vow she'll never forgive or see her mother again - she deserved it anyway.

"No she hasn't seen me yet... she won't be in the same place as I am... I know Michael, I know it's going to work, she's taking her time" Anabelle stood behind the door and shamelessly eavesdropped to her mother's conversation, "No she hasn't asked what type it is, thank goodness, I just told her it's terminal... well, miracles happen Michael, she will not look at it medically and I'm going to get my daughter back"

Anabelle furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, what the hell is her mother talking about?

"I seriously think it's working, she won't look me in the eye, she's feeling guilty, so when I magically get better, she'll stay home with me..." she could visually see the smile on her mother's face, "I'm going to get my baby back"

Anabelle has had enough, she pushed the door open aggressively. Her mother turned around - she wasn't in bed - and dropped her phone, her face caving in.

"A - Anabelle, how long have you been standing there?" her mother asks carefully.

"Long enough to know something is going on, what the hell is going on mum?"

"What happened?" Scarlette run into the room, "I heard a crash"

"You tell me what the fuck is happening" Anabelle screamed at her aunt, "Are you two playing a fucking game on me?"

"What - what are you talking about?" Scarlette asked confused.

They look so alike, so similar, so beautiful. Both blonde, both pale, both with blue eyes, only that red lipstick smeared on her mother's face.

The room was spinning around Anabelle, both twins gaping at her, a shocked face, a confused face, a scared face, what the hell is going on.

"Let me explain" her mother approached her, Anabelle backed away, her back hitting the wall.

"Get away from me" she shrieked. She's so afraid, so betrayed, she hates this place, "Are you - are you dying?"

Her mother didn't reply.

"Well are you?" she asked again.

Her bearer shook her head sorrowfoly.

"You lied to me" she could feel her whole body shaking, she was going to fall, "You - you fucking lied to me" tears fell down her eyes - she's weeping, "how could you be so - so cruel?"

"What the hell is she talking about?" Scarlette genuinely looked confused, "Danielle, what is going on?"

"I - I..." her mother sat on the edge of the bed, "I lied, I'm not sick... I just wanted you back Anabelle" her eyes begged.

"You'll never change will you? You'll always be manipulative bitch" Scarlette screamed.

Anabelle fell on the floor, she couldn't really feel her legs anymore, she just wanted to sit on the floor. She cried, wailed, felt her heart come out from her mouth.

"Make this stop" she screamed, "Make this pain stop"

"Baby" she felt Scarlette hug her close to her, placing her head on her chest. She breathed in her aunt's sent and it felt like home. Scarlette always smelled like bread, different from the cookies and roses smell. Bread felt like home, cookies and roses felt like betrayal. Evil, scheming smell.

"Take me home Scar" Anabelle whispered. She was emotionally exhausted and wanted to get as far away from her mother.

"YOU DIDN'T HAVE to come with me Scar" Anabelle said, as they both boarded the plane.

"Of course I did. I feel like I participated in this trap" her aunt pulled Anabelle's hand into hers and started playing with her fingers.

"It's not your fault, she was too smart, and I was too stupid"

"She was just desperate I guess"

Anabelle nodded. She didn't want to believe any kind of defence towards her mother. She vowed to not even go to her funeral if she ever dies. For she will die all alone.

"What are you going to do now?" Scarlette asked.

"Back to nursing school and my internship"

"And Matty?"

"We're over, so over!"

"Harry mentioned something about Niall?"

Scarlette has proved to be very nosey a long time ago.

"It won't work out Scar" Anabelle looked out the window, the endless sky full of clouds, "We're two worlds apart"

"Two people sitting across each other might not work out, but two people across the world would connect Ana"

"Not in my case, I have shitty luck, and no time"

"Alright, whatever you say"

She just wanted to go home, away from all the drama, away from Niall, Matty and her evil mother. She just wanted home.
