Jimin's POV

"Why don't you and Jia come to school together anymore?" Mingyu asks opening the door to the school. He gestures for me to walk in first.

"Your step brother makes her ride the bus with him, didn't you know?" I asked.

He chuckles lightly. "So that's why he's been getting up earlier these days."

I nodded entering our classroom.

Mingyu's seat was right at the front beside the annoying Seungkwan. He places his bag on his seat then followed me to my table.

I took my bag off my shoulders then hung it on the hook at the side of the desk. I was about to sit when something catches my eye. I walk over to Jungyeon's desk.

"Bitch"

"You're ugly!"

"WHORE"

"Die Yoo Jungyeon"

"FAT"

"Nobody likes you!"

"Slut"

Hateful words and comments were written all over her desk in different colours and pens.

"Who did this?" I raised my voice earning the attention of everyone currently in class.

Nobody answers.

"I said who did this?!" I shouted. "You cowards!"

"Jimin," Mingyu puts a hand on my shoulder as if to calm me down.

I move his hand away scanning everyone's faces in the room.

The attention was taken away from me after a few seconds when Wonwoo, Junhui and Jungyeon enter. Everyone stares at the three.

Wonwoo ignores them and makes his way down the isle to his seat but as his eyes land on the desk he slowly turns to everyone in the room. "If I ever..." He grits his teeth. "If I ever find out who's responsible for this you're going to pay! From now on," he walks over to Jungyeon and holds her hand, "consider Jungyeon my property. If anyone dares step on my property... you're dead."

-

I hardly ever ate lunch these days. I hung out at the rooftop every time I could.

"I thought I might find you here."

I turn around to see a smiling Mingyu holding a box of orange juice.

"Here." He hands it to me.

"Thanks." I turn back around and look at the view.

"What's bothering you?" He asks as he stands beside me.

I shrug. "I don't know." I wasn't looking him but I could feel him looking at me.

I hear him sigh and shuffle a little. "It's the engagement isn't it?"

"Probably," I said but it wasn't. I felt bad for Jungyeon. This school is so obsessed with pretty boys with money they can't even let a girl breathe. "Actually, it's because of Jungyeon." I admitted.

He stayed silent, it always meant to continue talking. Why is he such a good listener?

"When Wonwoo and I started dating the same thing happened to me. I was bullied when Wonwoo wasn't around. My desk was always graffitied. Girls would steal my clothes during gym class. And the list goes on." Disgust filled my body. I've forgotten how I felt when it happened to me. But seeing it from an outsider's point of view made me sick to my stomach. How did people just stand back and watch someone get tortured for being liked by a nice boy? Is envy really that strong?

"You know, you act all tough on the outside but on the inside you're really just a big softie," Mingyu says lightening up the mood.

I rolled my eyes, "pshhh whatever."

He chuckles, "cute."

I narrow my eyes at him.

His eyes widen realising what he just said, "sorry..." he scratches the back of his neck, embarrassed. "It just slipped out."

I shake my head and lean against the railing with my back. "Wanna go up to the balcony?" I say nodding towards the brick stairs that led up to Wonwoo and I's old spot.

"Sure," Mingyu leads the way up.

I sit down on the pavement and Mingyu sits opposite of me.

I was about to say something when he puts a finger over his lips.

"I can hear someone coming up here." He comes over to where I was sitting then peeks over the small brick wall that was probably only a meter high. "It's Junhui and Jungyeon." He whispers as  he sits beside me leaning against the wall.

"Should we go?" I whisper back.

"Yeah I think-"

"Jungyeon run away with me. We can go to China. We can start over. Just you and me... please..." Junhui's voice cracks.

"Junhui..." Jungyeon sounded like she was already crying. "Even if we ran away they will find us. Don't make this any harder than it already is. Let me protect you."

"I would rather die than see you marry someone else!" Junhui screeches.

"Well I'm sorry for being selfish but I don't want you to die!" Jungyeon sobbed. "Junhui you and I both knew this was going to happen. You and I knew we couldn't be together in the end so why... are you... making this so... difficult." Jungyeon could barely talk now. She was crying too much.

Listening to their conversation made me feel like an intruder. But there was no way Mingyu and I could leave now.

"I never thought I would fall this deeply in love with you." Junhui says and after that there was silence.

Jungyeon stops sobbing and says, "my first love, Wen Junhui, I will never forget you."

"My first love, Yoo Jungyeon," I could hear Junhui walking and then stopping, "this is goodbye."
