CHAPTER TWELVE : WE GREW UP TOO FAST
'Are you sure you don't want me to tag along?' Elara enquired.
'Relax,I'll be fine and do you think I'll let you skip lectures?pft,
don't dream.' I replied.Rolling her eyed she replied,
'Whatever women,I'm off then.'I watched her car disappear into the horizon beforr I turn to look at my destination.
Precisely saying,
Sky's house.
Did I say house? More like mansion.
The place was so huge it blocked out the entire sky.
There goes your only hope of light
I know i know pray for me Pixel
I took a deep breath and rang the bell.
Five minutes.
I rang it again.
Another five minutes passed by.
me, being the impatient human being ,rang the bell in a continuous flow for about a minute, non stop until someone did open the door.
finally.
I turned and looked at the person apologetically.
she looked around 50 years old and also,
looked very very annoyed.
well,who wouldn't be.
'may I help you?' she inquired.
'yes, I'm Dr.Melanour Renolds , I'm a friend of Skelton's-'
'I-I'm really sorry I rang the bell like that,
I'm assuming you are his mother, I would very much like to meet him.'I replied so fast I doubt she got anything I said.
her annoyed face changed to a face of worry.
it was a familiar face change, one I have seen often.
Usually meant the person was not in the least expecting my question,
hence preparing for an answer other than the actual answer to my question.in short, A lie.
'skelton?,well,um,he already left for America.'
there there it was,
the alternative answer.
just play along.
I was going to anyway dummy.
'Oh, shot, I guess I missed him, do you perhaps have a contact number?'
'he-he he doesn't have one.'
'you mean to say he's in a completely different continent and doesn't have a number?'
Mrs.Lemark looked quite uncomfortable.
I didn't really mean to put her in this situation, but I really need to know where he is.
she replied finally,
'he doesn't want to be contacted.'
'he won't mind me, I was his best friend. I came back after a very long time I'm sure he'd be thrilled.'
'But..but- well, he didn't give us a way to contact him.'
I breathed out loudly.
'I'm really sorry Ms.Lemark, for putting you in such a uncomfortable position but,
I'm a psychologist.'
