I went into the dressing room and got ready for the day. Every since yesterday, I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face.

"Brian, time to come out. You've been in there all morning." My sister complained.

I exited the dressing room and allowed my sister to enter.

"What is with him lately?" My other sister asked.

"Morning, Dad." I said as I swam past my dad.

"Oh, he's got it bad." My sister said.

"What? What has he got?" Dad asked.

"Isn't it obvious, Daddy?" My sister asked him. "Brian's in love."

"Brian? In love?" My father questioned.

I swam away and laid out on a rock. Tyler was beside me, pacing back and forth.

"OK. So far, so good." Tyler spoke up. "I don't think the king knows. But it will not be easy keeping something like this a secret for long."

I picked up a flower and began to pull off the petals

"She loves me. She loves me not. She loves me!" I said as I pulled off the petals. "I knew it!"

"Brian, stop talking crazy." Tyler scolded me.

"I gotta see her again- tonight!" I said excitedly. "Scuttle knows where she lives.

"Brian, please. Will you get your head out of the clouds and back in the water where it belongs?" Tyler asked.

"I'll swim up to her castle. Then Brock will splash around to get her attention, and then with-" I tried to plan out.

"Down here is your home!" Tyler interrupted. "Brian, listen to me. The human world, it's a mess. Life under the sea is better than anything they got up there.

Tyler then went into an entire lecture about how the sea was better than the land. I looked over to Brock and signaled him that now was our time to leave.

Tyler POV

Once I finished my lecture, I noticed that Brian and Brock had left.

"Brian? Brian?" I called out. "Oh, somebody's got to nail that boy's fins to the floor."

"Tyler! Tyler!" A seahorse said as he got closer to me. "I've been looking all over for you. I've got an urgent message from the sea king."

"The sea king?" I asked.

"He wants to see you right away- something about Brian." The seahorse said and left.

"He knows!" I instantly freaked out.

I went back to the palace and stood at the door of the throne room. I saw King David looking at a flower.

"Let's see, now. Who could the lucky mermaid be?" He asked the flower.

I noticed me and hid the flower behind his back.

"Come in, Tyler." He told me.

"I mustn't overreact. I must remain calm." I told myself before entering the room.

"Yes?" My voice cracked.

I coughed to try to cover up my high octave.

"Yes, your majesty." I said.

"Now, Tyler, I'm concerned about Brian." King David said. "Have you noticed he's been acting peculiar lately?"

"Peculiar?" I repeated.

"You know, moaning about, daydreaming, smiling to himself. You haven't noticed, hmm?" He asked me.

"Oh, well, I..."I stuttered.
