"Dearly beloved." I heard the priest say as Brock pulled my towards the ship.
"Don't worry, Brian. We're gonna make it. We're almost there." Brock said.
"Yes, um, do you (y/n), take Evan, to be your lawfully wedded husband, for as long as you both shall live?" The priest asked.
"I do." (Y/n) said.
"Eh, and do you..." The priest was interrupted by birds attacking Vanoss, or Evan. "Then by the power inves-"
More animals jumped onto the ship and caused a panic. A group of starfish clung onto Evan.
"Get away from me, you slimy little..." He started to say.
Brock swam to the side of the ship and I climbed aboard. Scuttle flew up to Evan and squawked in his face. Evan grabbed Scuttle by the neck. Scuttle tried to fight back by biting the shell around Evan's neck.
"Oh, why you little..." Evan began.
(Y/n)'s dog broke off his leash and bit Evan. Evan screamed and let go of Scuttle, causing his necklace to break. The seashell went flying. It landed by my feet and broke. My voice filled the air. I opened my mouth and found out that I had my voice back.
"Brian?" (Y/n) asked as she came towards me.
"(Y/n)." I said, finally being able to speak her name.
"You... you can talk. You're the one." She said.
"(Y/n), get away from him." Evan shouted with his real voice.
"It... it was you the whole time." (Y/n) said.
"Oh, (y/n), I wanted to tell you." I said.
"(Y/n), no!" Evan shouted.
(Y/n) and I were about to share a kiss, but the sun had set. I was being transformed back into a merman.
"You're too late!" Evan said, turning into his normal self.
Vanoss crawled over to me and grabbed me.
"So long, lover girl." Vanoss said as he threw us over the side of the ship.
"Brian!" (Y/n) called after me.
"Poor little prince. It's not you I'm after. I've a much bigger fish to..." Vanoss began to explain.
"Vanoss, stop!" My dad's voice said.
I looked up and saw Tyler and my dad.
"Why, King David." Vanoss said and laughed. "How are you?"
"Let him go." My dad demanded.
"Not a chance, David. He's mine now. We made a deal." Vanoss said, showing my dad the contract.
Vanoss' two eels held me back so I couldn't escape.
"Dad, I'm sorry." I apologized. "I- I- I didn't mean to. I didn't know."
My dad attacked the contract with a blast from his trident, but it didn't work. Vanoss laughed at his efforts.
"You see? The contract's legal, binding and completely unbreakable- even for you. Of course, I always was a man with an eye for a bargain." Vanoss said as he approached my dad. "The son of the great sea king is a very precious commodity. But I might be willing to make an exchange for someone even better."
(Y/n) POV
I couldn't believe it. I had finally found the man that saved my life, and it turns out he was a merman that apparently had some deal with some kind of witch. I couldn't just let that witch take away Brian. I jumped into a row boat and rowed away from the ship.
